Default Can anyone offer HTiB advice please?

Hello everyone,

I am wondering if anyone could offer any input regarding what HTiB to buy. I am on the fence between the Sony STRDG-820 (no speakers, I know), and the Onkyo HT-S6100. If I would go with the Sony receiver, I still plan on purchasing the Onkyo speakers regardless.

I have always been a fan of Sony receivers; I love the CStex B DSP mode for movies. However, the HT-S6100 seems the way to go. Can anyone tell me that might own the HT S6100 if it has a similar surround mode to Cstex B. I have a Sony receiver now (STRDG-695) and love it, but would like to have TrueHD and DTS-MA decoding. I believe the Onkyo has on-screen display also, which is another big plus for me.

Finally, I am concerned that the Onkyo may not have matrixing capabilities. For example, I have a 6.1 system now. Even if I'm watching a movie in 5.1, audio is still heard from the rear center speaker--it's just not it's own discrete channel. My concern is, if I watch a 5.1 encoded movie on the 7.1 Onkyo, will sound be emitted from all speakers? I realize that it would still only be five discrete channels, but I would like all speakers to be active. I know it's possible with a Sony receiver, but I've never owned Onkyo anything before.

Any advise is greatly appreciated, and I thank anyone in advance. I'm really leaning towards the Onkyo setup, but I'm weary as I've never owned anything by Onkyo in the past.
