I have a Seiki blu ray player but I don't want to take it out from storage because the remote issues never solved and I want to get a new Region A player but something that does the job and nor expensive but that has 110-240v compatibility so I can plug it directly.
I read some horrible stories of voltage converters catching fire so I want to buy a player that is built in to support all voltage inputs and not something that is modified to support voltage. So please let me know if you know any. Would be very very helpful. I need a basic player because most of my collection is Region B or 4k but I need a Region A player to watch Region A locked discs that comes with the 4k discs having behind the scenes or extras. Or some titles like Criterion to play so I need a normal player that does the job. |

From what I can tell a lot of the SONY players that have 12v adaptor can work, but without seeing the PSU bricks it's not a 100% certainty.
It might be worth looking at convertors, but a decent one will add to the cost. I'll check my players later to see what the bricks say. |

So the most I ll be needing a brick that is 12v and plug it to the Region A player and it will work and no need for any other transformers or converters? And yes please have a look when you have time. Would be very helpful. Thanks. |

![]() The AC adaptor is the same as my old SONY Blu-ray player, below is the one with the 6700. Pictures from eBay. ![]() I think once you've narrowed down the player, read the manual for the US model, at the end of it you'll see Supplied accessories and the AC adaptor should be listed. |

Edit: I checked a YouTube unboxing and see this brick is supplied and I took a screenshot ![]() I think it's 12v AC so now the only question remains is if this player is built in converter to support every region voltage. I don’t want to get it and have it burnt. Please help. Last edited by kashif; 01-22-2024 at 04:18 AM. |

But here's the confusing part if you search for that adaptor, you get a US Walmart link which says: Quote:
I don't think they have anything inside that converts the supply, everything is done with the AC adaptor with these types of SONY players. Sorry I can't be more helpful, I will look at some of the region free sites later today. |

I have a Euro Region B LG BP 250 player, and I want a region A player, couldn't I just buy a Region A LG player or a similar one and just replace the device and still use the Power cable/plug for both devices ?
Don't they just produce one type of device for all regions and just change the region code for each market ? Because the description says 100-240V, 50/60Hz. |

It says 100-240V, 50/60Hz on their official Product page, but in this announcement it says 100-120V
![]() https://www.lg.com/jp/about-lg/press...player-bp350q/ The Q Modell seems to be only available in Japan, at least google only shows japanese pages for this modell I should ask a japanese friend to check what the actual product box in stores says, but if it says -240V it should work right ? and Japan is also region A ![]() edit: https://item.rakuten.co.jp/gratitudeverything/su-bd01/ this one should also work, but would probably need an extra EU Powerplug/cable Last edited by nimrahwt; 01-28-2024 at 07:45 PM. |

Have you tried an OPPO player? I thought these were dual voltage and internationally playable content DVDs.

I googled for Oppo BD players now and it says:
Quote:
Plus I like to have the TV+Player from the same manufacturer (with Simlink), but if you know an easy to configure region free BD player brand I would replace it (and it would be nice to have a player with a time display on the front again). And the Xbox One S + Series X and PS4 (and PS3 in the other room) also have a BD Player, but I just need one more for Region A BDs. I would also take a 4K UHD region free Standalone player, but the Xboxes also have a build in 4K player and no problems with them. I also googled for BD players which are easy to set region free, but haven't found one, but I found lots of LG BP 250 modded players for the 3x price of what I paid for my Region B player, so I thought its probably the cheapest and easiest way to get an imported player. My first DVD player in 2008 was the OPPO 981 HD, it was easy to set region free, but after a few years something leaked, I asked the support and they said that they don't have the replacement parts anymore, so I bought a LG BD player which is also easy to set region free for DVDs and has a good upscaler. I found a region free chip for the LG player, but I don't dare soldering, I've asked 2 electricians (co-workers) but they also said that they felt uncomfortable doing it, and suggested to import a player instead https://www.rattlebyte.com/Shop.php?...l&model_id=155 I've asked my friend and he said that he only found the BP250 in stores, but no Volt description, so he emailed the japanese LG support to be sure which Voltage it has. ^ and if not maybe an external converter would help, as posted above
I used the Laptop\Leawo route with Laptop to TV via HDMI cable, but the laptop is a bit slow and then fan gets loud, thats the reason why I want a real BD player instead to watch my Region A BDs again. Reply from the LG Japan support (translated) Quote:
