Default Planning to watch my collection A to Z

Hey,

When I was growing up one of the fun things the local rock radio station would do would be to have something like a Led Zeppelin A to Z weekend. They would play every song from A to Z and it would take most of the weekend.

Anyway... I can enjoy all of the movies in my collection so when I'm done watching all the new titles that I've recently bought I'm going to try burning through them all (I mean to say watching them) from A to Z.

It will take me a year or maybe more (because I never have the energy or time to watch more than 1 movie per day).

It means I'll have to watch High School Musical... Maybe I'll trade that one back before I get started. I bought it thinking my kidz would like it but seems they don't care much for it. Not sure I can sit through those but I like every other title I own.

LOL I've been doing that since January, still not done. Of course I started before I sold all of my DVDs and I take a lot of breaks but still I thought I'd be done by now. I'm in the TV seasons now, 4th season of GA.

Sounds like a good idea. LOL! I have several movies I have not seen yet in my collection. I usually just go to my "did not watch" section and I just choose a movie. I think the original Halloween is up to bat since I watched the remake lastnight.

Sounds like a great idea. I would do something like that, but my blu-watching has been cut down to once a week, if lucky. To many other family things going on right now. Hell, I still haven't watched "Kn0wing" or "Push" yet, and I got them on release day.

What happen when you buy a new movie? Do you keep it for your next round? Just wondering?

Cool

Haven't done that in 6 years. I first did it when I saw the picture difference between DVD over Coax cable vs s-video. My collection was probably half what I have now (still not a lot) so it was much easier to do. I rewatched them again when I upgraded to component, though the quality difference wasn't nearly as dramatic.

I usually watch DVD upconverted on my Panasonic DVD / VHS combo.
Recently watched TRON upconverted on my Panasonic BD35 blu-ray for the better upconversion and it looked very good.

These days, I save movies to watch seasonally and a few I watch on a whim.

I always watch any new movie I get so that will take precedence.

Also.... I've got netflix so that gets in the way too.

But... I think I can make plenty of time to enjoy my movies and the way the "collection" feature of the site alphabetizes them (I don't keep them alphabetized) it will be easy to keep track of my progress.

I know I have some that I haven't watched ... even though I think I did.

Lucky for me... I ignore most special features completely,... that saves time.

oh Gosh, if I tried that It would take me about 2 years just to get through my HD and Blu collection alone (let alone my DVD's and Tv shows and Anime) if I watched one movie a day.

I've been watching my movies alphabetically for a while. New movies I buy come first, and I've been doing this since last winter...about 9 months. I don't watch a movie every day, and I'm in the "G's" now.

Yikes......

If I did this, it'd take 91.5 days (if I average out the movie length) to watch them all.......

Assuming I took no breaks

Beta,...

You must be including the DVDs.... I just ignore my DVDs now.
(Or you have more than 22 Blu Rays in your collection.)

Actually when I thought of my favorite 15 films that I own only 1 was on Blu but I still don't want to watch the DVDs... I'll wait for the Blu Rays.

Yeah, DVD, Blu-ray, and HD DVDs If I don't count "Multiples" of the same movie

A friend of mine has a HUGE collection of movies and various DVD's. I'm talking walls and walls. It used to be all VHS! My friend LOVES movies and movie memorbilia. He is a true collector.

I actually try to keep my movie collection down to a shelf or two. I'm curious as to why people like you buy more movies than you could possibly watch in a life time.

well, i'll keep it short.

1. I'm a collector of movies, many movies can go out of print or be difficult to find later on.

2. Options.... I want a choice for my movies. I watch movies when I'm in the "mood" for them. If I chose to rent from say netflix I would have to think of a movie, rent it, plan when I am to watch it. I don't like that, I feel like I'm in the mood to watch a certain movie or type of movie and If I don't watch it that day or hour or whatever I can lose the desire to watch it. So I'll rent a movie thinking I'll want to watch it and then poof, it just sits around waiting for me to "get in the mood" or I send it back unwatched.

3. It's great for friends too, we can choose whatever movie we like without having to rack our brains because they are all there in front of us.

4. I like the tactile touch of a collection, to me renting is like masturbation without the pay off. I don't spend money unless I'm KEEPING a physical product. Otherwise to me it is a waste.

5. Of course I don't have more than I can watch in a life time. I sometimes watch 12 movies in one week. I can easily go through a thousand or so movies several times in a life time, not only that I'm married so part of my collection is stuff my spouse wants to watch as well.
