Default Can you help me rank these subwoofers?

I know, I know, another thread asking, "Which subwoofer is better? Which one would you buy? Do you like this one? ......"

pause... (crickets chirping)

With that said, can you help me rank these subwoofers?
*Please note, that the order they are listed in is the order I have ranked them.

HSU / VTF-3 MK3 - $699.00
Elemental Designs / A3-300 - $550.00 (shipped )
SVS / PB12-NSD - $569.00
AV123 / MFW-15 - $499.00
Epik / Vanquish - $699.00

* The room size is 18' X 20' / 70% movies / 30% music

Here is the setup:

Marantz 6003
Paradigm Monitor 7 - Floor standing speakers
Paradigm Monitor CC-290 - Center channel speaker
Paradigm ADP-390 - Surround speakers

I'm sure I would be happy with any of them, but its still nice to have extra input.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you have other suggestions in the $500.00 to $750.00 range, please let me know, thanks!

That is a nice list. It might come down to personal taste.

I can't rank them in order as I haven't heard them all but I have 2 of the elemental designs A3 300's and I absolutely love them. I am in the process of finishing the risers and I will have new pics up. They rock and the price shipped is nice if u ask me. Make sure your back is ready to lift them though cuz they are frickin heavy.

The price is a killer deal! I can't believe ED pays for shipping on all of their subs, amazing. I really like the HSU subwoofer and their reviews, statistics, and warranty is just, awesome, but if it comes down to HSU or ED, I think I will give the edge to ED. They too have great reviews and performance, but the price difference could be what puts ED over the top. The HSU is $699.00 plus $100.00 for shipping and the ED is $550.00 shipped.

Thank you. I've had it for about 2 years now. Honestly it's too much for the room it is in. The room is 15x17x9 and have it turned up to only about 35% but it does sound great The HSU you are looking at I have not heard but I'm sure it sounds amazing.

Sounds like it's gonna be an awesome setup.

All I can say is...blu_man, which ever one you choose, you better invite me over for an audition! (I'm in Rancho Cordova) Or just throw up some pics!

Wow, 35%! Holy Cow! Now you got me nervous....pause...for my new neighbors. Well, I finished college and I'm moving from a 1 bedroom apartment into a house, so I figured it was time to upgrade from the 75 watt Onkyo. Although, for a small apartment its been perfect.

I'll post pics as soon as I decide on a sub.

I just got monitor 7's today, but I haven't seen them yet because I had them shipped to my parents house. I can't wait to go see my new twins tomorrow!

I went from a 100 watt Harman Kardon subwoofer to the Hsu. Dude can't even compare. When I was setting it up I plugged it and turned the volume all the way up like an idiot. I thought it was defective. It was making all these crazy noises and shaking my entire house. My wife was in another room and started running down the hall she wanted to know what was going on. I was deaf for second or two. I have never attempted to turn it up like that again. The Hsu can cause some damage but more importantly it sounds good with both music and movies. The one you wanna get is even more powerful than mine.

That is the funniest story! Classic! - Wow, I think my 2 little PSW-10's at times shake my little HT room, but i've heard stories about people's Subs like yours.

One day...

I've been interested in getting subs but I'm not sure if two smaller subs is better than one larger sub of it works better the other way around. I'll have to find out.

You should compare my basement home theater pics w/my current setup in my gallery! It doesn't end up in the basement because you bought it for there, unless you have a dedicated space!

I think whatever sub you choose will be a good choice! All are very solid!

they work well together, but I don't think Your set-up needs TWO. our friend "Forsberg21" just went from the same 2 PSW-10 set-up to a SVS Sub (pics in his gallery) last week, & though he's not had much time to Properly test it (new baby), the few minutes he Has have been amazing he said. So I think if I were to have one REALLY REALLY Great Sub vice 2 very good or decent ones, I'd rather do that. "DonRSD" just ordered an AA 12" ($198 most places online, but got it for $169 "best offer" on Ebay), that is coming in this week, & is supposed to be a Very very good Sub for the $$$$.

The original Nintendo -->

I'm shopping for one on ebay as we speak. I can't wait to play Excitebike, lol. DAMN, OVERHEATING, AGAIN!

Before I got my Sammy 650, I had a Quasar (Hold on, I'm tearing up, lol) that I had to hit the top of it to make the picture from bouncing. Oh, of course, if that didn't work, I just put a phone book under it and tilted it back - for an astonishing picture, trust me.....

The speakers I have, well, there not as bad as say, KLH, but I'll let the suspense build.
