Sorry for the newbish question but is there any distiguishable difference between the component cables and hdmi on a 1080i tv. Reason I ask is that my hdmi stopped working on the bd30 for some reason and I really dont want to buy a new player just yet.

oops, accidentally deleted my reply to this, here's what it said:
component will have information loss from the player to the tv because of the Digital to analog to digital conversion, but that loss is minute and most people can't even see the difference, so whichever looks better to YOU is the one you should use. If the component looks the same/better to you, go ahead with that and don't bother replacing the player. |
