Going to Buy Some Blus...OPINIONS - Blu-ray Forum

Going to get some Blus this week and would just like to know what everyone's opinions are.

Movies
PRESTIGE
MEMENTO
CRANK
CASINO
DESCENT
V FOR VENDETTA
THE SHINING
KNOWING

TV SHOWS
WEEDS seas 1
DEXTER seas 1

Keep in mind, I've seen all the movies and I've never seen either Weeds or Dexter, but I hear they are great. I would like to get one show and one movie based off PQ for the movies and TV show and overall quality of the TV shows, thanks.

i love crank looks realy good and crank 2 just droped to 24.99

DESCENT is realy good too the second one is coming to theaters end of the year i think or early 2010

V FOR VENDETTA i have heard some people complain about the sound being low

i own all 3

PRESTIGE = zzzzzzzzzz snooze fest
MEMENTO = decent, more like a renter
CRANK= pretty good
CASINO= must own, classic
DESCENT- no
V FOR VENDETTA- must own
THE SHINING- classic, up to you if its a must
KNOWING- best audio, pretty good movie

PRESTIGE - I like this one but only after a second viewing, + great Blu
MEMENTO - Very good movie IMO and good Blu
V FOR VENDETTA - One of my favorite movies and it is a decent Blu-ray
THE SHINING - Classic, one of the only films I've ever bought a week after renting it.
KNOWING - I only liked this one a little in theaters.

TV SHOWS
WEEDS seas 1 - I've been given strong recommendations for this one.
DEXTER seas 1 - One of my favorite TV shows and it looks pretty good on Blu

The Prestige is an amazing movie. One of my favorites. It is a drama so I can see why a lot of people didn't like it.

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Sunshine. If you like scifi stuff you will like this. It looks and sounds amazing and really good story too.

PRESTIGE - interesting, but I preferred the Illusionist
MEMENTO - Amazing. Must have.
CRANK - Never seen it, but I hear it's better than expected.
CASINO - classic, but not as good as goodfellas.
DESCENT - haven't seen it, but heard mixed reviews
V FOR VENDETTA - great movie, but the transfer could be better.
THE SHINING - classic
KNOWING - heard it was one of the worst movies of 2009.

TV SHOWS
WEEDS seas 1 - heard this was the best season.
DEXTER seas 1 - Seen an episode or two. It could be worth it for the right price.

First-hand, I know that “Memento,” “The Descent,” “V for Vendetta,” “The Shining,” and “Knowing” all have really good PQ and AQ; you can’t go wrong with any of them. “Memento” and “Knowing” don’t have many extras, but the other ones do. They’re all worthwhile.

I haven’t seen weeds yet (if ever), but I’ve seen just a few episodes of “Dexter.” It seems pretty interesting; the characters are good, the stories are suspenseful, and it is well-filmed. It’s probably worth a blind-buy.
