Default Jay Leno leaves 'Tonight' behind

Source : http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/TV/0...how/index.html

I'm glad he is going because i didn't quite like him or did it find him funny.

Conan O'Brien will replace him at 23h35 on NBC

Conan is way funnier. Go Conan!

I think Jay Leno is pretty funny.

I like both him and Conan, looking forward to Conan's run.

yeah I remember when Carson retired. Jay took over and did a pretty good job IMO.

Conan is going to kick some serious ass, though. Great choice for a replacement.

i can't stand conan, i've watched the show several times to see if he was good, not one laugh, smirk or chuckle
so i'll be passing on the Tonight Show from now on

i like jay leno, he's funny to me usually, so i'll be checking his new show out now and then

but...

Craig Ferguson FTW!!

I don't care for any of the late night shows, but I'll watch Leno tonight.

David Letterman's boring. I'm going to miss Jay but the one I find really funny is Craig Ferguson.

I could never watch a full episode of Letterman. Leno is good, but Conan is great and I cannot wait for him to be on the tonight show. I will get to watch him so much more because of the earlier hour. Looking forward to Monday.

It isn't easy to find a replacement over someone who has reached icon status (Carson). I have nothing against Leno, and he really did have some big shoes to fill. To his credit, he definitely IMO made the show his own rather than try to carry a prior tradition. I've gotten plenty of chuckles with him on the helm over the years. I was still a teen when Carson retired so I really only watched him for less time since Leno took the helm. However, I feel I won't miss Leno as much as I did Carson.

I was driving home from downtown LA yesterday and as I passed by the big metro station. I see a camera crew filming Conan doing a bit with some random people off the street. Very cool, I guess he was doing bits for the show.

And now they are in direct competition. Should be interesting to see how the ratings turn out.

I was actually hoping Leno would just do a car show like Top Gear. His videos on jaylenosgarage.com are entertaining and informative. He keeps it very conversational and down to earth. Plus it is fun seeing him try to do a burnout in a Smart car.

Leno's a hack.

I like Letterman and Conan, too; but I wish Letterman had a shot at the Tonight Show.

Goodbye Leno! And btw, thanks for putting thousands and thousands of people out of work so you could take over primetime, that makes me love you so much more.

I like both Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien, but yeah, they are completely different types of comedians.

Jay Leno appeals more to mainstream middle America.

And Conan O' Brien has more of an underground hipster appeal.

While I like them both, I do prefer Conan's absurdist humor, to Leno's corniness.

I personally think they should have left well enough alone. Jay was perfect for the Tonight Show, and Conan was perfect for Late Night.

I'll reserve judgment until I see the first run of shows, but I will be disappointed if Conan really waters down his style, at 11:30. We shall see.

Also, I am not liking Late Night With Jimmy Fallon at all. I've really TRIED to like it, but I just can't. Jimmy was amusing in his SNL sketches, while in character. But when he appears as himself, he is not funny.

Letterman's lost now that the Bush punching bags gone. Leno and Conan are both hit or miss for me. But Craig Ferguson has me laughing every night.
