Default Matrix Trilogy - Which is your favorite?

Matrix 1, 2 or 3

Which is your favorite?

Matrix 1 - the stage setter. Some severely awesome scenes including the lobby gun battle, the end scene with the agents and numerous pieces of eye candy

Matrix 2 - Various "Demo Material" scenes, some pretty awesome action, some innovative story line additions/special effects (Agent Smith)...the
[Show spoiler]Zion speech by Morpheus and the community dance stuff
was slow and boring unfortunately.

Matrix 3 - Wall to wall action, awesome special effects, more ear candy, more eye candy, more more more...not much to find fault in this one

Matrix is one of those rare movie series where the sequels are unique and are as good, if not better, than the original. Very few movies are able to achieve this.

What is your vote for the best of the three? My vote is for #3....but #1 is within a hair. #2 only suffers from the slowdown in the scenes I mentioned above.

The first one is my favorite. The second has some great action, but the story starts getting a little jumbled. The third may be eye/ear candy, but the story is now completely lost. The brain needs candy too.

Man, I love all 3. The first is great because it establishes the story/base, the 2nd is awesome in that in continues the story, but has more action and the 3rd is awesome since it is just a ton of action. 2 and 3 are my favorite from a audio perspective. The freeway scene in Reloaded is just classic demo material!

I agree...that freeway scene was one of the best chase scenes in film to date. Special effects were just un-freaking-believeable.

The first one.

With the notable exception of the last 5 minutes.

Flying Neo = Super fail.

The first one is the best one because it sets up everything that happens in the next two movies and opens up the world that is the Matrix to us.
