no subwoofer and "large" speakers...HELP

hey guys, i currently have a 5.0 polk audio setup (rtia7 fronts, csia6 center and fxia4 surrounds) paired with a pioneer 1018 receiver.

i dont have a subwoofer at the moment so im relying on my fronts to handle the bass.

after running the speaker setup with my receiver, it suggested i set all my speakers as "large"

is it just doing this because i dont have a sub? and should i switch them to small now or wait until i have a sub to handle the LFE/bass and then switch?
