Default A brand new laptop

Is this real? 6.8Ghz cpu, 1TB Ram, 2TB storage... There is lots of speculation but they do make a commitment to show the technology early next year

Is this even real?

AMD and Intel are having a REALLY hard time breaking through the 4.0 Ghz level and this thing goes for 6 GIGS of processing power?!?!?!?

We might be around three years early in the "technological race" if this would be the case.

And I'm a person who considers system memory that is more than 256 MB as "fast".

I have 768 MB of DDR-1 RAM (PC333) and I consider this as "ultimate satisfaction" yet I only knew that there was DDR-2 and DDR-3 RAM (last April 2005).

Waaaaaah, if this is the case, then I'm so outdated

Anyways, I hope that I'll be amazed even more when this 6 Ghz laptop unit gets to be shown to the world next year.

Thats just silly it even says "or four 1.7GHz Intel Pentium M processors" you cant just add speeds up like that. Also the Cell processors cant link up in a much similar fashion. From what Ive heard they can link any number of cells in conjunction for more processing power. I dunno seems kinda rumory.

I think theres two versions, one with multiple intel chips and the other with their very own 6ghz chip.

I find it hard to believe though, not only the chip but the storage, 2tb in such a small space...hmmm.

I'll only believe it when i see it!

I think seeing is believing, or in this case independent testing is believing. As this is computer based I would have expected it to be promoted and published in the computer industry first. I work with a couple of 100 IT professionals (well some – Okay one or two, could be called professional). This lot get excited at a rumour of a 1% increase in CPU speed – they would be out of their trees with this news. They have almost got silicon going as fast as they can. There is another problem – heat and to keep up the heat going, a BIG power supply. The faster CPU’s run the more energy needed. That laptop would be able to replace my heater. Can I have one at work, I will supply my own eggs and bacon – I can have a feed any time I like! Have they developed the thermal gloves so you won’t burn your pinkies when typing? This is an April 1st joke that has escaped.
