Default HT-WS1R any good ?

The new Samsung Sounbar.. is it any good for a budget audio system?

Or can i get something better for the price? It's around 500$ (I'm in Canada)

I don't really want wires everywhere, i just want a better audio system for the voices mainly... I want low sounds like explosions, and crystal clear voices.

Any suggestions? Maybe a soundbar or a 2.1 ?

Hmm....ive heard mixed reviews on this. I believe the sub is wireless and cuts out. I was considering this for my bedroom but went with the def. tech mythos ssa50 speaker bar. For around $300 you could get yourself decent receiver and couple polk audio towers. There is a polk audio soundbar that Id recommend over the samsung one. The def tech is pricy and requires an actual receiver.

If your interested in the soundbar solution i would look at the Yamaha models, i know 2001 audio video has them on all the time with a free yamaha sub for around $600 depending on the model. The reason i say Yamaha is because they invented this type of speaker and have always had the best reviews for there soundbar speakers.

Yes after reading a few bad reviews (Sub cuts out) I'm thinking about the Sony's HTCT100 3.1 BRAVIA Theatre System

What about this one ? Would go nicely with my PS3 which is my main multimedia player

So how good is it ? I'm looking for something that will project sounds in front with crystal clear voices.

With this, can i lower the music and big explosions and boost the voices?

You can turn down the sub from +6 to -6 and the same with the speaker itself, as a default its all set to max (shocker) I have mine at Center +4 and Sub -1. Everything sounds great to me, you should be able to here a demo at any Best Buy or Sony Style store.
