Arrow Major 'Predator' Update

Well this sure as hell sounds interesting, maybe I spoke too soon against Rodriguez. But everything originally reported was a remake not a sequel, and this draft is over 15 years old. I've always wanted a movie set on the Predators home planet so this could be good. I will definitely wait for much more information before deciding on this now.

Quote:
Seems Fox haven’t greenlit Robert Rodriguez’s original “Predators” script – well, they have, only it’ll be re-written by someone not-named-Robert-Rodriguez before it goes before the cameras. Did that make any ****ing sense at all!?

Bloody Disgusting says screenwriter Alex Litvak has been hired to rehaul Rodriguez’s “Predator” sequel (yes, you heard right – it’s a sequel, not a remake) script.

Rodriguez's initial screenplay for "Predators", which he wrote in the early 90s on spec, saw Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger's character from the original 1987 film) being transported to the Predator's home world. There, Dutch is thrown in prison with a bunch of other, er monsters who are all being prepped to battle one another in a sort of Celebrity Deathmatch.

I imagine Litvak‘s main task is to rewrite a couple of the characters – largely that of Dutch. Not to say Arnold Schwarzenegger won’t/can’t make an appearance in the film as the Cigar-smoking jungle hero, but it probably goes without saying that he’s not going to be headlining the film. Might Litvak replace Dutch with Mike Hartigan, the character Danny Glover played in “Predator 2”? Not quite as juicy as Arnold, but it’s a much friendlier option than having Steven Pasquale reprise his role as Dallas from “Aliens vs. Predator : Requiem”, right?

Litvak was a co-producer “The Hunting Party”, a wonderful little flick my buddy Richard Shepard directed. The former’s first screenplay, “Medieval”, is currently in development at New Regency.

I'd rather see Wolverine Vs. Predator.

It'd be cool if we saw Bill Paxton's head make a cameo, given if this is in the same timespan of Predator 2.

He didn't take his head, just his spine and skull, and than he waved it from a concrete pillar while some drugged out rastas on the streets below in a caddy smoked out while sitting on zebra print interior, before Predator retired to his ship and placed the skull in his trophy room, along with an Alien skull, what appeared to be a T-Rex skull and some other prehistoric looking creature. I wonder how old Predators live to be given those others, unless on his planet there are still dinos, that could be something for the new movie

The predators life span is said to be thousands of years.

I'm totally down with watching a predator hunting raptors in the jungle. at one point landing on the back of one and placing it in a choke with one arm while using his forearm claws to stab the raptor through the side of it's neck

I was sitting next to a random girl on an airplane once, and she asked me "How fast do you think the plane goes"? I told her probably around 70-80 mph, because if we go over 88 mph we'll travel through time. She obviously didn't get the joke.

did you then proceed to pull out your wiener?

I only ask because that seems like it would be logical thing to do at that point in time

this could potentially be awesome, Predator: Origins, showing how they became the "lions of the universe" so to speak and how there culture thrived by becoming the ultimate predator, even "aliens" would greatly fear, predator boot camps, training missions, stealing hunting secrets from varies visited civilaztions

be great to bring Arnold back to, maybe the predators bring him back and honor him as he was able to win against a predator and that brings great honor from them, just talk out of my @ss but I'm already excited about possibilities

I love it - the deathmatch part if I want a predator movie I don't want it to be gladiator with predators cheering in the stands. You'd think they could give us more maybe a crash landing on their home world aliens humans w/e but a deathmatch with races ... these characters deserve better

even if its a deathmatch they will still get my money

good and bad news but THANK YOU for the update

There's a weekly collectibles show near me twice a week and some of the vendors there have it. It even has a making of on it.
