Default Home Theater popcorn

One thing I love about watching movies at home is I can drink beer and I don't have to pay an arm and a leg for popcorn.
When watching a movie, do you eat popcorn?
If so, is it microwavable like the Boy Scout popcorn, or do you make your own?
I make my own. It's quite delicious.
-Take a 2 Qt. saucepan and pour and cover the bottom with canola oil
-Get it hot enough so when a drop of water touches the oil it starts sizzling
- Once hot enough, add a heaping 1/3 cup of popcorn
- Cover pan with lid, but leave a slight crack for air.
- Listen until done popping and pour into a giant bowl
- Add salt, artificial popcorn butter flavor, and enjoy

Never been much of a popcorn fan myself. I do love a good sandwich or Sammich as JJ would say, but mostly I love M&M Peanuts or chocolate covered raisins. Of course, beer is a must!

Ahh, yes...

Food & snacks with your movies just makes them better, whether alone or with company. I love getting some air-popped popcorn ready, lightly salted and buttered with real butter - a huge bowl of it. I'll also put some snacks around such as chips, Cheez-Its, or what-have-you.

Top it off with big, cold glass of Mountain Dew, and I'm all set for myself.

If I ever get a home I can put a dedicated theater into, a theater-style popcorn machine will be a part of the plans.

Here's an old photo I had when my theater was quite a bit more ol'-skool...

Yeah I'd like to get one of the "street cart" style ones. You know about 5 ft tall, red, big wheels. They've really come down in price too, I've seen them between $125 - $200.

I'm too damn lazy. I get that generic, microwaveable Publix-brand popcorn.

HAHAHAHA I just saw the sammich reference - John, old boy, those only if they're brought and made for me,

Usually I dont really eat while I'm watching a movie...

My snack of choice would be some Ice creame in a bowl...can't sit in front of the TV with the whole carton, it would be done before the movie

Popcorn comes from the "Stir-Crazy" and it's usually the wife who insists on it....... During the non-pregnant days, we've been known to knock out a bottle of Perrier Jouet, or Moet, or Veuve Cliquot etc. But for me, A tasty Stout, and some dry-roasted Macadamians are all I need.

The best popcorn ever made is called Corntown and it comes from ALDIs. I know what you are thinking, and no I am not messing with you.

Better than ACTII, Orville Redenbacher, Pop Secret, etc. any day of the week.

Jiffy Pop is cool though, nostalgia....

Not a big popcorn fan myself, but often my wife and I will sit down to dinner on the TV trays while watching a movie. Dinner can be anything from Bubba Burgers to grilled steaks. That's how you're supposed to watch a movie IMO.

Default Lets get serious Ice Cream Rules

A BIG and I mean a BIGbowl of Bryers ice cream. Rocky Road is #1 on the list followed by coffee or pistachio and for a quick pick me up a good vanilla ice cream sandwich.

Jason CORNTOWN is the best popcorn out there, I have been eating it since I was 13. And my parents thought they were getting a good deal! Up until I was eating a bag a night!!!

My goodness, do I EVER remember Jiffy Pop when I was a kid, back in the days before microwave popcorn! You'd swear that foil was going to burst!

For some, it DID burst!
