I just picked one up two weeks ago and I have been very impressed with it. I don't have any real calibration software for it and there aren't too many threads I have seen with applicable settings yet..
I use a Playstation 3 60GB for my Blu - Ray player and it plays Blu-Rays at 1080P/ 24 HZ without issue, it's flawless. I have a DirecTV source for my HD and my signals all come in at 90% or more as well. I am not sure if that really has much effect on picture quality unless your signals are cutting out all together. This T.V has nearly all the features of a Sony Bravia W series, Sony brands their X.V technology which this TV has the equivalent of as well. It's a great set for someone that doesn't want to spend 2K or more on a TV.. I don't see gray crawl and the blacks are really solid as well. I think it's a great TV and it definitely looks better than my friends 65F and 61F Samsung Sets. |

I just bought one too, and the picture is fantastic, but just so you know i came from a 42L Vizio, smokes the vizio no question, some people have complained about the tvs sound, but its ok. I use a surround for movies anyways. For the price this tv kicks some serious $h**. I highly recomend this tv.

I just got the 40" 550 series on Friday. BD looks absolutely stunning on this tv. I was able to get it for $1299. Specs are 30,000:1 contrast ratio ('07 was 10,000:1), 3 HDMI, and a faster 5ms response time ('07 was 8ms). Samsung made a nice leap this year in terms of the specs.

I just bought the TV listed in title of this thread. I am in the process of moving so it is still in the box. I primarily plan on using it for watching sports and movies (no video games).
My question is this: Has anyone noticed any issues with fast motion or black colors? I've read online that this set does a better job than most LCDs when it come to rendering blacks, but I haven't been able to find anything about quick action. Any issues with, say, a baseball or soccer ball moving quickly across the screen, or with explosions or quick camera angle changes in movies? I'm trying not to have buyers remorse, so any help with the above questions would be appreciated (first time poster BTW). Thanks! |

I realize this is an old thread... hopefully someone will see... I have the LN46A550 and was wondering if anyone else has had an issue with the 24hz. The motion does not look fluid like 24p should. In fact it looks alot like 60hz. I am using the Samsung BDP-1500 BluRay player. Perhaps it is the player and not the TV. Any thoughts?
