Default Blu-ray movies for 2011

It seems not many titles announced for 2011. As I look at the new release calendar things seem to really slow down in December and not much if anything in January on in 2011. Any thoughts on this. The economy?

January is always a slow month. Things start to pick back up around Valentine's Day.

Yes, it is a natural pattern of the Blu-Ray cycle. As 2011 goes along, more and more releases will be announced.

I just wonder what will be released...

Its definately exciting wondering what will be released. But it can also be a let down when some of your favorite films dont get a release.

It's still early. There's plenty of time for announcements. December is looking slow so far too, but that should change soon.

Um, too soon? Movies are typically announced within only a few months of release, it's still Sepetember for one more day.

For 2011 I would like to see the following on blu:

JAWS........Special 36th anniversary edition!
The Wild Geese......classic British action film!
Shout At The Devil.......another 70's classic.
Big Jake.......John Wayne at his best!
El Dorado.....another fun Wayne western.

Nobody buys anything in January, which is why the spring "season" for videos doesn't begin until Valentine's and Easter/March.
(Both good seasons for kids's movies.)

As for the rest of the year, didn't George Lucas already say he was working on the full Star Wars Sextology (make that "Saga") for mid-late '11?

I thought this year was a really good one, I just hope it keeps getting better. More Horror would make me happy, but not my wife because it gets expensive.

This year is easily the best to date as far as catalog films go, not sure 2011 can even come close, especially with all the financial issues companies like MGM are having right now.

From my readings, expected releases for Jan '11 are:
Dinner for Schmucks
Piranha 3D
Machete
Resident Evil: Afterlife
But, as of now these are all expected not set in stone.

Star Wars is obviously going to be 2011's banner release, other franchises like Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park would help but honestly they really outdid themselves this year, little bit of something for everyone.
