Will You Buy Gladiator - Blu-ray Forum

Just wanted to know if you are going to get Gladiator i'm still not sure.

Hard to say... bad reviews from the US release... need to find out if the AUS is a different print before purchasing. Will buy Braveheart first day though.

Hell ya, even if it isn't that great of a rip there is no way its worse then the DVD and for the sound alone I would upgrade and on top of that I am getting the UK Steelbook!

you sure? dissapearing arrows isnt a problem on the dvd...

Yes, bought it along with Braveheart for $38.00 at BB. IMO it was worth it.

I am buying it I have it on pre-order already. But I really do hope Universal replaces all current copies. And I will be sending Universal a complaint to make sure they know people are upset with the transfer.

The Australian release comes in a metal/tin slipcase w/ a cover design almost similar to the UK SteelBook. Release date is set for September 30. It's available for pre-order at EzyDVD.

I preordered the Gladiator UK Steel despite bad reviews regarding PQ. Afterall, I am after the SteelBook packaging.. and besides, I do believe the HD transfer is still quite an upgrade from the SD.

Braveheart in the UK has different audio than U.S.!!
U.S. has True HD, U.K. gets DTSMA and OAR of 2.39:1

As for Gladiator, appears to have issues in Reg A and B so I think I'll stick
with my Reg 4 Superbit for now and see what happens.

Its the same transfer on Blu-ray worldwide. Universal did the work on it and allowed Paramount to use the same transfer. Absolutely terrible release. Especially for a movie this great.
