Default Friday the 13th question

I saw the new one and liked it but would I like the others as I never seen them before as I was a halloween fan growing up.

Khaotix,

To me, Friday the 13th and Halloween are quite different styles. Halloween has always been more creepier for me, focusing more on atmosphere and story instead of nudity and kill scenes like the Friday the 13th series.

Also, I feel like the Halloween series takes itself quite seriously, while the Friday the 13th films are more of a date movie affair. If you wanted to have a girl clutching your arm and jumping, Friday the 13th follows this remedy.

Friday the 13th films follow the same plot most of the time (steer clear of Jason Goes to Hell and Jason Takes Manhattan) and can become repetitive, but I always found them to be more fun than Halloween. I grew up on Halloween more than Friday the 13th, but now I like the latter better.

Basically, if you want creative kill scenes, gore, nudity, and minimal story-telling, Friday the 13th and all its sequels will be right up your alley.

Hope this helps.

No problem

check out Parts 1, 3, 4, and 6. They're probably the best.

Parts 1-4 are what I consider the core of the F13 franchise, and actual horror films. 5-8 are enjoyable on a more silly, B-movie level.

Anything beyond that (Jason in space, wtf?) is pretty lame.

I try to block both films from memory. I stick with the original 8 from Paramount.

Watch Friday 1-4, skip 5, it can be and most of you know why if you've seen it. Watch 6 and thats about it.
Halloween 1-2 and skip Season of the witch number 3, and watch the rest of them that have Donald Pleasance.

Does anybody know if the new Friday the 13th Part 3 In 3D is actually going to be released IN 3D here in the states? I keep hearing conflicting information.
BTW the first 4 Fridays are worth seeing if into silly horror movies, but after that it kinda went downhill.

Nope, Season of the Witch was indeed number 3. Part 2 came before it, and was a continuation of the first film.

If we're talking about the release date, then yes it was after Jason X.
