Default T3

Why didn't Terminator 3 get a special re-release like the first 2 moves did?

The first movie didn't get a new special edition, just a new cover. Part 3 might get some special treatment when Salvation hits home video later in the year.

But honestly, what more do they need to do with it? It's pretty damn great already. I don't see the point in Warner Brothers devoting any more time to this title when the current release is already solid.

They could add HD audio, the current release is only Dolby Digital.

The first 3 Terminator movies were all made by different companies and Warner chose not to re-release the third. As mentioned maybe there will be a tie-in with the release of the Salvation Blu-ray, or when the next installment comes.

The current DD 5.1 track is fantastic. I guess they could upgrade it, but I'd pass.

I just watched T3 the other day. It's good enough for me, but I could see how one might want the best audio possible. I was happy with it, though, and probably wouldn't buy a re-release.

I may look into this version. The only reason I haven't bought it already is the non-HD audio.

And if you want to make it even classier, then you could try and score a Region Free German SteelBook on Amazon.de.

I imported the UK version & it's a big difference with the Dolby TrueHD soundtrack.

It's a big improvement over the US with the Dolby Digital soundtrack & the standard DVD.

Sony released it last month in the UK with the Dolby TrueHD soundtrack to coincide with the new Terminator movie.

It was well worth the money to import it.

I ordered my copy from Amazon.co.uk today, and honestly cannot wait. I kept holding off on the US release for the same reasons as most: no-HD Audio.

Oh, and the fact that the US verison is on a BD-25 w/ a classic warner encode.

I've heard both (the uk/aus release has HD audio) and it is significantly better then the 'standard' dolby track.

I saw T3 in my local Odyssey and it was a Hong Kong Sony release with Dolby TrueHD. Will go back to pick it up later today.

How does this compare to the US release in terms of extras?

Other than BD-Live chat, the extras are the same.

I ordered a copy from Amazon UK along with the T2 tin can. I'm holding out for the Blu of T1 until they restore it.
