Default DeepDiscount.com 15% off

Hopefully more of you will see this before the sale ends tomorrow at noon PST.

Use code HOT15 to get 15% off your entire order, including pre orders, excluding video games.

I just ordered:
Batman: The Complete Animated Series
Bad Boys / Bad Boys II 4K Collection
Hereditary 4K
Marrowbone 4K

With shipping, came to $176.66 USD, they only charge when shipping items so since they're all pre orders, I'm hoping there won't be any duties to be hit with.

Seems to be the cheapest price so far on the Batman set, which is no longer available for order once again on Amazon.ca

The Amazon UK edition seems cheaper -- comes to roughly $89CDN.
The DeepDiscount site offers $91.52US (that's with the 15% discount).

As the Amazon UK edition seemingly offers the two movies, I'll stick with that for now.

Big thanks for the mention of Deep Discount; I had forgotten all about it!

Hey all,

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but for anyone who's ordered from deepdiscount.com, did you get charged import fees? There's something I want to get, and the only reasonable price is between Amazon.com and deepdiscount. I'd rather go with deepdiscount, but I don't want to pay import fees at the door (the item $110 USD with shipping)

Thanks for any info!

This is my first order from DD in about 6 months. No import or custom fees at checkout but who knows once it arrives (just shipped today).

I ordered items and haven't been hit with any fees but nothing was significant together in 1 package.

Been fine on even other items up to $150 but did recently get dinged on a package from the US valued at $200 from a family member

Probably. People have been charged tax for less valued items. See the wowhd thread in this forum. It's the same company. You may get away from being taxed if its several low priced items, like $20 + 20 + 20. But $50 or above is a bit of a risk. I was charged $21cdn for importing the Lenzi boxset which was about cdn$100. The RRD tracking# they give you will indicate a CP tracking# which will indicate the amount owing.

Yeah, I got dinged $24.xx. All to avoid buying from stinky old amazon.com, lol. Had to go to the post office to pay the COD fee, too.

For what it's worth, I got The Shield, the complete blu-ray set. Seems to be no good way to buy it in Canada except through amz.com or deepdiscount

edit: just noticed the timestamps, thought it was today. I guess it doesn't help lol

New 15% off coupon code is HATTER. Good until Friday.

Picked some Warner Archives titles at $15: Mr. Nice Guy, Tex Avery 2, and Curse of Frankenstein. Came out to $21 CAD per title shipped. Not bad.

I used my newsletter sign up 10% off code to place an order on Deep Discount but my credit card details were rejected. I’m trying now to place the same order with the intention of using PayPal but their system rejects the same coupon code, saying it’s been used already. I’d like to get this cleared up before the code expires, which will be in a couple days. How responsive to messages are they?

I have been using Microsoft Edge to view DeepDiscount. Occasionally, when I open the page, I am already informed of available coupon codes. It saved me a little money from a recent purchase.

Does anyone else have any trouble using a Canadian credit card on Deep Discount? Neither my MasterCard nor my wife’s Visa went through. Both times, I got an email from DD saying,

“All orders are subject to credit approval. Unfortunately, we were unable to obtain approval for these backordered items and have cancelled them.

If you used a credit card for your purchase, your bank or charge card provider can assist you in determining the reason.”

I spoke with a CSR from MasterCard who told me that some American companies have started automatically declining Canadian credit cards. I don’t know if that’s the case here, but both my card and my wife’s are working normally otherwise.

Paying with PayPal is the only way I can get a transaction to actually go through with these guys. Frustrating as hell.

Did you receive the message after you placed the order or weren't you able to complete the payment at checkout?

If it's the latter, I've had a few similar problems in the past, so I completed my payments with Paypal. Eventually it would sort itself out when I placed a new order a few months afterwards. It hasn't happened in a long time though.

I think the only time I received an email from DD stating they could not receive credit approval was regarding a Mill Creek price error that they did not want to honor.

The email came in several minutes after placing the order successfully. Everything appeared normal before that. And the item wasn’t backordered, it was a preorder.

It took 10 days for my Star Trek 4-Movie 4K Collection to reach the sorting centre in Canada, then 1 day to be sitting in my mailbox. Eleven days total from the shipping date.

I've ordered from DD a few times already. I received everything I requested. My first order was around Christmas time and shipping took longer than usual but that was the case with every order I placed at that time. (It didn't help matters that I tried searching tracking details on an incorrect website.)

Most of the negative comments from others I've noticed online are usually due to pre-order items taking time to arrive in DD inventory for re-shipment. For that reason, I only order in-stock items.

I suspect for their flash sales, that DD has a handful of those titles at the advertised price. After those sell out, they cancel the remaining orders for that product. When you see something on sale, place your order first and then post an alert in forums. Otherwise, forum members could purchase the titles before you have a chance.

Aftership is trash now for tracking RRD #'s. Only site working for me at the moment and giving accurate info is pkge.net. Not even ePost or Shop is working well for me.

If anyone doesn't follow the US deals board, Deepdiscount currently has a 15% off deal running with promo code AUTUMN15 on in stock items. They also have a 45% off Criterion sale running, & you can use the 15% coupon on those. They do charge shipping to Canada, but I found that the 15% coupon basically removed the shipping fees. I use them mainly to order new Warner Archive & Kino titles. I haven't made any orders since June so I have a bunch of Kino titles to catch up with, but unfortunately a lot of their August releases are currently back ordered.

Two coupon codes for scary movies that have a pumpkin icon on the webpage.
Buy 2 and save 10% with the code MUMMY10
Buy 3 and save 15% with the code VAMPIRE15

I ordered:
Cloverfield / 10 Cloverfield Lane 4K — $30.44US
Evil Dead 2 4K — $17.99US
Zombie 4K (Blue Underground) — $29.99US

And another $11.99US for shipping, and it came to $78.65US total.
