Default HD-DUD of PE drops to 10th on Amazon

Planet Earth for HD-DVD had been as high as third last week. Now it's down to 10th! This is great news. Now I noticed the BD of PE has climbed back to 12th. Does everybody feel as if this is a result of the recent Blockbuster announcement?

Don't know if it is or not, but it's another indication that HD DUD is sinking like the Titanic.

There's a thread on here regarding how, apparently, quite a few people purchased the HD DVD version by mistake, thinking it would play in their regular DVD players. I'm sure that boosted sales. I think Amazon has made it more apparent now that the HD DVD is just that, which probably accounts for some drop as well. Gotta love HD DVD for shooting themselves in the foot!

Wait a second, didn't I just read the same title on HD DVD is outselling Blu-Ray? And here I thought that sales were what mattered most.

The only reason it may have outsold bd is because hddvd can't market itself well enough to make people aware of what it even is, and many people bought it on accident. This has been documented as I'm sure you would see from customer returns and complaints. As I said before, there's a thread that details this situation on this forum. Even if it did legitimitely outsell it's bd counterpart . . . drop in a bucket at this point.

One HD-DVD disk outselling the BD counterpart means nothing....there could be 5 other BDs outselling the HD disks in smaller margains leading to higher overall BD sales....
