Would anyone please be able to give me some advise.
How much better is lossless sound than lossy sound? Would the Onkyo HT-S5305B with lossless sound be better than my current logitech Z5500 (mainly for blu rays and games)? Or would i be better buying a Onkyo TX-SR508B and getting lossless sound through the logitech Z5500 speakers? I would appreciate any input anyone has on this. thanks |

If so, you will be limited in fully appreciating lossless versus lossy. You probably could detect an imprvoement in one over the other, but it would be minimal IMO. Perhaps we should put this in the direction of how much you are willing to spend on a receiver and speakers instead (a/k/a budget?) |

i do want to make it clear that there is nothing wrong with either system mentioned. it's just that you really won't notice much difference if any given the HTiB or the Logitech which is really computer speaker system. again, both are good but won't yield much difference in relation to the question asked.

Denon and Boston Acoustics have a really nice HTIB system together priced at $599. I think that would be a better choice over the ones you mentioned before. I've set it up a few times at different people's houses and it's a great sounding system for not much money.
