Do you have something that bugs the crap out of you in movies? Feel free to add your rant to this thread.
Personally, I HATE when filmmakers cast rappers/hip-hop actors in serious roles. Can we please put a stop to the acting careers of 50 Cent, LL Cool J, Exhibit, DMX, Andree 3000, Ice T, Ice Cube, the dude from Black-eyed Peas that was in Wolverine, etc, etc? I mean, is their crossover appeal that great? Does anyone see a movie because their favorite rapper is in it? This is seriously getting out of hand. Anyone with with me on this? P.S. Mos Def is the only one that I can tolerate acting. |

Bad editing.
There's this one chick flick that the wife dragged me to watch and there was a shot when the guy turned his head, you could hear that he was talking but you saw just enough of his face to tell that he wasn't actually talking at that moment. It bugged the $#!+ out of me. Logan |

I agree for the most part about rappers acting, although I don't have a problem with Andre 3000 and thought he was decent in Four Brothers and Semi-Pro. I thought Eminem was fantastic in 8 Mile, but that was a role created for him and I'm glad he hasn't done more movies. I also think Common was good in Wanted and Terminator Salvation, and I agree that Mos Def has been a great actor.

Music and now whole phrases and scenes that are in trailers but NOT the movie. They change the scene or edit it out for the movie.
Iron Man: Trailer: Stark about to blast out of the room says to Rhodes "Try and keep up." Movie: He says "Keep the skies clear." If it's not in the movie, don't put it in the friggin trailer. ![]() |

Sappy music playing in the background during a dramatic scene or anything with Matthew McConaughey in it.

Unnecessarily happy endings. I'm not a huge cynic here, but some movies would have benefited from a more realistic ending then tidying things up. Not sure if happy endings mean more money (Titanic, Dark Knight did not have happy endings), but movies like Garden State for instance felt like it had such a cliche ending when the rest of the movie was not.

1. When a producer or "sponsor" gets their name above the title of the film. 2. When a name is used simply for promotional purposes. ("Quentin Tarantino Presents...") When people see this, they think, "Oh! A new Tarantino movie..." 3. When an actor's name is bigger than the film's title on the cover. 4. Product placement. It has its place, but directors like Michael Bay go overboard with it. Yes, seeing MSN advertisements in the future makes it seem more realistic (especially since commercialism will have become even worse in the future), but it's becomes an obvious marketing ploy when the camera focuses on logos. 5. When whoever is funding the film won't give the money unless his son/daughter/brother/sister/wife/husband is cast in a leading role. 6. When the executives want to change the plot or soundtrack. I could go on... |

I am particular to shooting scenes, and I count shots fired. I like to hear the correct number of shots from a particular gun. Especially a revolver, because there's no excuse, I better hear six spent casings hit the floor after a revolver shooting scene. My buddy and I just laughed when we saw the subway scene in the beginning of the third Matrix And Shooter was a joke in terms of realism, kinda ruined the movie for me, even though it was just an ok movie Last edited by tbizzle; 06-08-2009 at 07:24 PM. |
