Any AV Forum exiles/UK members?

I'm just wondering if there are any AV Forum exiles now on Blu-ray.com?

AV Forum's was an interesting forum for those of us based in the UK, there are few sites with HD discussion's from a UK perspective.

So are there any AVF exiles, or UK based posters in general.

You can sometimes feel a little left out with so much US based discussion, especially with all those great sales and deals!

That would be a yes. this site is pecker drivel free so is quite a breath of fresh air.

But seriously, this site is great for just finding out facts and information about blu ray without having to deal with the trolls constantly.

There are a few others here as well, some go by there same avf names and some have new names as well.

The info seems to get here much quicker (obviously I suppose).

Gandley and JAGUAR1977 know me well from AV forums where I'm currently serving a two week suspension for showing what a bunch of HD-DVD hypocrites they really are over there.

Currently trying to argue, politely, for the resumption of a 'format war' thread, because let's be honest, it will effect what movies we can buy long term.

Seems strange to ignore it and assume both formats will be around long term.

sadly it was me who got that thread closed becuase i stood pretty firm for no FUD there. whats funny is i only started arguing the case for BD becuase i hate lies and FUD, at the time i was a firm HDDVD supporter, but FUD is FUD and even though i supported HDDVD i wasnt going to tolerate missinformation even if the MODS were.

at the start of that format war thread the HDDVD guys really did ridicule the BR boys, but as soon as the favour was returned due to BDs upsurge in PQ and ownership, the mods stepped in due to the cry babies who could not take what they so frequently dished.

the HDDVD fans there seem pretty intent on turning every BD thread into a war thread anyway.

Hi Jag just read that thread. IanJ doesn't own any HD at all.

When I was a MOD on AV forums I use to get on with Ian J but he has a tendency to take a dislike to some posters if he felt they were getting too big for their boots. I guess if you attract the wrath of the HD-DVD fan base by posting counter arguments with fact, you have a tendency to get alot of reports. I guess the reported poster is then seen as the enemy and IanJ fell for it hook line and sinker.

Greg is HD_DVD who tries to come across as neutral even though he's only just gota PS3, IIRC.

It's sad but I put the fact that so many threads gets locked, down to lazy modding. ie, it's better to cut off the head, than it is to wait for the head ache go go away. And all those reports can cause one hell of a head ache.

LOL, it seems OK on AV forums to start a FUD thread about BD when its about Fox using MPEG-2 or Sony's replication yields but when you point out the fact HD-DVD's releasing Time Cop on a HD15, it's a format war thread and an automatic 2 week suspension!

Yes I posted that thread just to see what all those who slammed BD for the use of BD-25 had to say, and ofcouse no one battered an eye lid. In fact Pecker was there defending the decision!

It's staggering the level of hypocrisy there, I mean do they ever stand back take a look at themselves, at what they post, rather than point the finger at some one else?

JAG, it's clear from reading that thread you started nobody can handle a debate or stand up for them selves without resorting to the report button. As soon as BD supporters have a say the HD-DVDers fingers are already twitching before a word is typed.

I may retire BadAss from AVforums altogether.....if you know what I mean...

i gave up with the format war on avf because a certain few just talk shite all the time, pecker is the biggest culprit atm. I would have laid out my thoughts on there a long long time ago but i use the forum for other purposes so it wont do to get banned. I should imagine he will proclaim hddvd victory if transformers wins a week, even though he used to say that bd only won weeks due to blips...casino royale was a blip because it was a popular film...shame that format war thread went, he had a crap load of shite in that thread that needed throwing in his face..my favourite was that HDDVD needed to be within 5% of bluray at the end of august though he expected them to be ahead after heroes was released...if they werent then they were likely screwed. well...they werent, and i think they are.

I found it amazing a mod threw it back in my face that thread had been scrapped, as if I was making all this stuff up!

Everyone who's followed HD on AVF for the past 12 months is well aware of what was posted, now that threads gone all those wild predictions and insults have gone with it.

One thing i hated about pecker was he would send the format thread into the mire and then when a mod steped in and basicly made it clear it was peckers posts that were out of line, he would thank the MOD, i mean WTF, it was his half assed intelligence that was killing the thread but there goes the thanks to the MOD, either he is terribly dim witted (well for sure) or of low moral balance.

Now it seems he enters a Blu ray thread with a slightly positive post, then follows it up with posts that gradually turn the screw to blu negativity (the PS3 price reduction thread being a classic example). Hes the only blu ray owner i know who hates the format so much. Such a time waster, a slug has a better grasp of reality than that idiot.

I also find it amusing that we MUST have discussion on BD+ issues and profile issues, but you must not discuss issues with HDDVD at all as that is format war discussion.

I do have utter respect for a couple of the HDDVD posters who just want open discussion, but many dont want that at all, more so as there were a few of us that wont back down one bit and fight fud with fact at every turn.
