Default Pdp-5080hd

Has anyone had experience with the PDP-5080HD? I am going to look at one this weekend for an extremely low price 600 USD and was wondering if the TV is worth it for my bedroom. Any suggestion thoughts?

I was thinking of this and the KRP500M, and the 5020. What stinks is I missed on a 5020 for 1100. I couldn't get to the store in time!!

So out of the three considering price what is your thoughts?

Thanks!

For $600 you shouldn't even be hesitating, and I have no idea how you missed out on a 5020 for $1,100!

My friend works for a video and audio store and he told me about it. Then a guy walked in and offered them 1200 so the owner sold it. The owner doesn't know me like that so money talks. If it would of been two hours later I would of been able to get up to his store.

The Pioneer 5080 was the 768p that was highly praised above many 1080p sets. In other words, not too shabby!

I'd skip that model. Its a 7th gen so you won't get the spectacular blacks that you can get with the 8th and 9th gen sets. Pretty much every manufacturer produces sets with better blacks and color accuracy than that set will offer. If you want a great set in the $1200 or less range look at this year's Panny's and Samsung entry level sets. The Panny's will have deeper blacks, but the Samsung's are more color accurate. You can also keep your eyes out for a Hitachi P50S602 or P50V702 model which can be had around that price online. These have excellent black levels and are very accurate in regards to color. Another option is to try your hand at winning a Pioneer 5010FD on the Sam's Club auction site for good price.

Thanks a lot. I skipped on the offer. I am just going to sit till the end of the year and take my chances on finding a great deal on a Pioneer. I am in no need for a new TV so I can wait and hold my cards. From my experience you can always find what you want if you give it time.
