Default Need Some Help

Hey, I am looking to upgrade to a new TV.

I currently have a 720p Sony Bravia. TV is fine but with 70 plus Blu Rays now in my collection I want to upgrade to a 1080p because as good as my picture looks now when watching Blu ray I know I am not getting the full potential on a 720p set.

For the most part I watch Blu ray, play some PS3 games, and watch some sports in HD.

What I am looking for is some recommendations on what tv to buy. this set will be for a bedroom so I am not looking to go any larger than a 40" or it will be too big for the room.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Do you have a preference for either plasma or LCD?
Do you have a budget in mind?

Just trying to get a feel of what range of TV's to consider....

not looking to spend more than $1500.

don't have a preference for either plasma or lcd. I am not that knowledgable on the difference between the two. which ever one lasts longer and gives me the best picture is what I am looking for.

I luv my Samsung 650 so I am going to toot my own horn here and suggest the this LCD TV. It is 120hz and has the auto motion plus feature (makes things look like a "soap opera" on certain programs which a lot of members do not like the way it looks, but is handy to have and looks good when used with the right material; i.e. gaming, sports and cartoons). I attached a link to Amazon for the 40" Samsung 650, which is just under your max of $1,500, and Amazon is usually very good with deal with for the purchasing of TV's and it is free shipping.....I've never had an issue.

Good luck!

thanks for the feedback. my problem is I know a good picture when I see it I am just not that knowledgable about all the specs on tv's, and I certainly value the input of the people on this forum more than some sales person in a store who is just trying to make a sale. I just want what ever is going to give me the best picture when watching Blu rays and playing my PS3.

No problem. If you review the 46" 650 on Amazon (same exact TV, just bigger), you will see hundreds of 5 out of 5 star rated reviews from people like yourself about this TV. I think that should help you a lot.
