Okay so I have some video files on my ps3 but there's a certain order that they go in so I renamed them "title - 1" "title - 2" and so on.
However, they don't view that way on the ps3 and they're out of order, with a different name (the title of the episode) with no way of seeing on the Ps3 which one is what ep. I've never encountered this before. I put the HD connected to my laptop, and changed the files there, and yet they don't show up as that name on the Ps3. What's up with that? |

Example here (not the specifics of mine) TV SHOW NAME - Episode Number - Episode Title (ex. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - Episode 1 - The Gang Gets Racist) That's the way the file was named originally, but some of them would show up with JUST the Episode title, not the name or the number. So I edited the filename on the laptop (under the rename function) and changed it to "TV SHOW NAME - 101" and instead it still lists it as the episode title. The file on the HD via the Laptop reads what I changed it to, but when viewed via the PS3 it is completely different. |

Since it's an external HDD, you have to find the OTHER naming convention the file has via the PC. Right-click on the file and select properties. The name that the PS3 reads from the video file should be there. Rename it and that should be it.

I don't believe that option is there, at least I don't recall it being there....will try again.
