I have a Olivea Bluray player that is working great with 5.1 analog out and decodes all the HD tracks but does not decode dts HD Master that a lot of movies are now coming out as. I had high hopes for the new Vizio but it look as if they have dropped the 7.1 analog out on their new model.
So my question is what players are available that have all the decoding capability and 5.1 or 7.1 out? |

The soon to be released Oppo BDP-83 should meet and exceed your needs. It's a bit pricey ($499 MSRP), but this player has and does it all. Some reviewers even list the load times to be better than PS3!
Check it out on their website, just google it. (Though I think it's www.oppodigital.com) |

The Oppo blu-ray player is the king of the hill. I have the oppo and the ps3 and i'll tell you that i favor the oppo over the ps3 any day! I use my ps3 for gaming only and the oppo for movies, and music in both the SACD & DVD-A flavors, even listen to CD's too! the load times are as fast if not faster than the ps3, it has 7.1 analog out, decodes ALL HD audio internally, bitstreams via HDMI 1.3 you can't go wrong. it's worth every penny! it comes with a beautiful HDMI cable (not some cheap cable either) you'll have to foot the bill to get some good analog cables (don't go cheap). it has 2 USB 2.0 ports both can be used at the same time, I have a 16gb stick in mine for BD-live content and that one is in the back, i use the one in the front for pictures an video's off of the web or my pc. I love it and have never looked back!
It is available now, no waiting, go to their site and get one! (two if you got the money!) |

![]() Do you work for Oppo? ![]() I plan to buy one, as soon as I get through the home buying process, which may be a couple months. Until then I'll have to use my PS3 and it's jet engine of a fan. I think having air-conditioning will really help keep my equipment cool, and may cut down on fan noise. (no I'm not Captain Obvious, but he's a friend of mine ![]() |

The Oppo sounds great, $500 is a bit pricey but where it does DVD-A and SACD which I had to give up with installing the new Olivea it would be great! I have around 15-20 high res discs and I love to listen to 5.1 music.
Does the Oppo have bass management? My old pioneer did great but the Olivia has none so I have had to trick my system to make it work. Any other players????? |

I think last years line from Sony had the analog outs, though I'm not sure.
Thinking out side the box here, but maybe it would be better to save up and replace your reciever. Just to one that supports HDMI, so you don't have to worry about running all those analog cables. Just a thought. |

It would be nice to upgrade the Receiver but I like my current (Pioneer vsx1015) would love to have the vsx1018 and I would still need a Blu that sends out dts Master out the HDMI which I don't think my Olivea does! Money is tight now a days and I just had to replace my Projector (Panny AX200) so that kind of eat up my theater fun budget this year. I could/would have sprung $180 for the Vizio if it had analog out's but I may be stuck for now! The Oppo would be great but $500 is out of range for now also!

In the less than $500 range:
Sony S550, Panasonic BD80, Pioneer BDP-51FD, Pioneer BDP-320, Samsung 2500/2550, and Samsung 4600. These players all have bass management, although crossovers are fixed at 100Hz or 120Hz in most cases. Most offer some distance adjustments as well. The Vizio was supposed to have decoding and 7.1 analog outs. But, you say that's changed. |
