Default Help with wiring.

Hi guys.

I got my new Sony SS-F6000 floor's and SS-CN5000 center yesterday. I upgraded the gauge to 16. I thought I bought enough. I was able to get the floor's and center wired, but I cut the bookshelf surrounds short so I had to hook them up with the gauge I already had which was 20 or 24 or something like that. It sounded fine to me, but will the receiver have issues with two different gauges going into it?

I dont want to buy a whole new spool, is it ok to buy just a few feet and splice it together for the right length?

Thanks!!

You should be ok, you can got to home depot or lowes and get wire cut to length, ALSO, I always suggest to people to do the longer runs first to the surrounds then the furthest front to the closest speaker.

Or just go to bluejeancable.com or monoprice.com and you can get wire cheap... personally I wouldn't splice it with wire nuts, but that is just me.....

Thanks Callas. So in the meantime it is OK to have two different gauges going into the receiver?

yeah, the only difference could be the sound quality. but it wont hurt your equipment
