Default so what were the outcomes?

Can someone who watched the entire thing give a breakdown on which sets got the highest scores? For those of us who can't watch the entire thing?

Wait I'm confused. I thought the 500m was a lower end model with less capability compared to the pro 111fd's. Did they not test a kuro elite?

Its not considered a lower end model and no the 500M was the only Pio in the shoot out...prolly cos they had the 111 last year and from what I remember quite predictably kicked everything's behind in the 08 shootout.

WOW! Very surprising results! I cannot believe the Toshiba beat out the Sony and the Samsung in the LCD race! Not surprised about the Pioneer taking the plasma crown though I would've thought the V10 would've given it a better run for it's money. And that's not even the higher end 111fd Pioneer.

Wait, so please forgive my confusion here.

Ok I'm assuming the pro 111fd and 151fd are the top of the line Pioneers (along with the 141 signature model). What is the difference between the 500m/600m Kuro compared to the 5020fd/6020fd Kuro?

Can of worms can of worms can of worms lol Going by what experts are saying as of the last few months...the newer 500Ms that came out have 10G Kuro parts...yes 10G Kuros were never made but thats what I have heard...mebbe thats why they put up the 500M against all the rest this year....if you go by numbers the 500M ranks higher as far as blackerness is concerned over the 111FD...but just by a teensy weensy bit...and its not obvious just by looking at both of them side by side.

Ok I just noticed too that the "M" series is like the signature 141 series in that it's strictly a monitor and does not come with a stand or speakers. That makes a little more sense. If you buy the "M" series tv and then the stand with it, I think it's still a little less expensive than the 5020 series. Plus if what you're saying is true and they actually have 10g Kura parts, wow!!

East Coast TV's is selling the 600m right now for 2899.99!!! Should I?!? Should I?!?

+1. amen to that wafi.

Steelmaker i was thinking about getting the 600m also instead of the 151 since its so cheap, but i really need the tv speakers, stand, and tuner.

How much does the stand and speakers cost anyway?

One more question to anyone who can answer. Are the 500/600m's as limited in terms of advanced picture settings the way the 5020/6020's are? That was a big reason why I was hesitant on getting the regular Kuro over the elites.

Pro-Adjust Control, Picture Control are the same between the 500M/600Ms and the 111/151s except the Ms dont come with Performance mode. From what I hear one can calibrate the Ms for ISFccc (Day, Night, Auto) but you would need someone far more educated and well versed in Kuros than I to confirm on that!

But they tested the Sony KDL-52XBR9 instead of the KDL-55XBR8? What's that supposed to prove? I see they chose all 240Hz LCDs, but those aren't flagship sets in their respective lines. Not by a long shot. Weird...
