The thread idea is simple: What books, cartoons, video games, (dare I say) board games, or just ideas/topics would you like to see made into movies? You can list remakes, reboots, sequels, etc that you want to see made as well (i.e. ones that are not already being planned), but the thread's purpose is really for more of the former. Also, it might be good to provide a brief explanation of your idea if it's something many people wouldn't have heard of...book, video game, what have you.
This is supposed to be a fun thread, so just a reminder: if you don't like it or don't like someone else's ideas, keep it constructive or keep it out ![]() To start off, I think--if done properly (i.e. good casting and director)--a Mass Effect movie would be pretty cool. But I guess the game is pretty much a movie in itself already ![]() Last edited by Sussudio; 04-15-2009 at 02:33 PM. |

Movie based off the book by Max Brooks about the zombie apocalypse and how humans turned the tide against the living dead. Great book. Amazing audio book.
It was bought by Pitt's production company and then there was one or two art renditions released but no filming start date has been announced. |

+1!!! It's unfortunate that all of the delays are getting me less and less stoked. The battleroom scenes could be fantastic! I'm thinking (strange, I know) that is Star Trek does well, this might help revitalize the sci-fi space genre. Maybe it's just wishful thinking.
I'd also love to see Deception Point made. I hate Dan Brown's writing style, as I think it's too simple (I try not to be elitist, but I read a lot) but I do think this book would make a really good movie. Another is Katherine Neville's The Eight. This wouldn't be a blockbuster, but could be a very impressive indie film... |

...but I'd like to see more of the Clive Cussler books (Dirk Pitt series) made into movies. I know that Sahara was critically panned as a bust and there were legal issues between Cussler and the production company, but I actually really enjoyed Sahara and would like to see more along that vein.

I think there is a fundamental fear amongst filmmakers preventing them from crafting a film set in a post-nuclear world. I've seen plenty of bad ones. But there just aren't enough decent ones out there. The Day After was actually one of the more realistic ones I've seen....
