Default Movies on the "Backburner"

These movies are the ones that you keep meaning to see but just either forget, delay, or simply just don't want to any time soon. Some people like me, might have some of these on your Netflix Queue but keep pushing them further and further down the list.

Two movies come to mind for me, "Jules and Jim" (1962) and "Oldboy (2003)

I can't think of one, but a few weeks ago it was American Gangster. I put off seeing that movie, but I finally did and it was pretty good.

Dark City. I keep seeing posts about how good this movie is. I bought it on a whim about 2 months ago and still haven't watched it.

I picked up the BD cheap back in March and finally popped it in last week... fell asleep about an hour in though since I was feeling sick.

Taken and Dark City. I blind-bought both Blu-rays when they first came out but haven't gotten around to watching them. I've been watching the first 2 seasons of Dexter but one of these nights I'll definitely watch Taken, and I've got a 2 hour car ride in a couple weeks so maybe I'll watch Dark City on my Ipod Touch.

I keep hearing good things, my problem is it's not longer playing on my movie HD channel and I don't have any renting memberships and I am not willing to buy it on a blind buy, so I don't know

Taken was great, and Dark City is an unopen Blu for me but it was really good too.

I want to rewatch Alien and Aliens, I first watched the theatrical cuts, now I wanna watch the special editions (director's cuts), and also watch True Lies again.

Movies I want to watch that I haven't seen before, I want to watch Michael Mann's The Insider and Miami Vice, having seen Public Enemies yesterday.

Also, check out Heat and Last of the Mohicans, both by Michael Mann. Awesome films

As for me, I was putting Old Boy off for a long time too, but I just watched it last week and to be honest, I didn't like it that much. It got really, I don't know, odd at the end. It was kind of a predictable shocker, and the "hero" kind of turned into someone that I wasn't rooting for anymore.

Not to deter anyone from seeing it, I still recommend that people should see it, but for me, it wasn't even close to living up to all the hype. Plus the PQ was pretty meh. I'm more excited about Spielberg remaking this

As for Pan's Labrynth, I do recommend that people who've been waiting for it to go ahead and rent it, it's pretty good. So is The Fall, another one that I had put off for a while and finally rented and loved it. I bought it the next day

I had Oldboy from Netflix for about 3months and I finally just sent it back without watching because the mood never struck me.

I got a good deal on it a few weeks back and i bought it on blu. Now it's been sitting on the shelf and I keep planning to watch it on the weekend but it keeps getting pushed back.

At this point I'm afraid this movie is going to be so overhyped for me that I won't even be able to enjoy it once I do finally sit down and watch it.

also, I've never seen all of Heat. I've tried watching it 3 times and something always stopped me from finishing it (girlfriend, cable, sleep). One day..

I'd say downloading is alright if you're really just testing to see if you'd buy it... but I'm not sure that's ok here.

Anyways, I love that movie.

Not a movie, but I thought I'd throw it in here anyway

FireFly

Have been putting off watching this show for years, even borrowed it from a friend once and ended up returning it after a month or two unwatched. Pre-ordered it last year on Blu as well.

I did, however, just start watching it last week. halfway through now. Really liking it.

Movie wise. Hmm. 'Casablanca' and 'Gone with the Wind' come to mind. 'Some like it Hot' as well.
