Sony BDP-S350 (REGION B) Help

I just got back from the UK, and decided to buy a Region-B player. Found a new BDP-S350 at HMV for what I thought was a great price of 99 pounds, and dragged it back home to the USA.

I obviously am going to use this in the USA, and it came with a detachable power plug (obviously for the UK). My main question is, can I just replace this power cord with one which will fit in the USA and will the system work at our regular 120V? I believe the BDP-S350 is also available in the USA (Region A), so I wasn't sure if the unit already can handle the power differences or if I will need to use a power converter.

99 pounds, huh? I'll be in the UK this fall and might just do the same thing so I can watch some region B imports.

You most likely need a transformer for it to work in the US, by just switching the power cords won't help you.

The US uses 110 and Europe uses 220.

I got the last Sony one at that price, but they also had Sharp models at 99 pounds on sale. This was at the HMV on the West End...

This is what I thought. Some electronics are capable of using multiple voltages. Since the model# is the exact same for both markets, I was hoping I could just swap the cord and not use a transformer...
