I'm looking for recommendations on good quality games for PSP that are also family-friendly. (My kids are 3, 5 and 11.) PSN titles are OK, too.
Suggestions? I'll list some of the ones I've found, and I'll keep it updated for any other parents out there who are curious, if there's interest.

WipEout's pretty hardcore so I don't know how well they'd cope with single-player in the two PSP games.
Me and My Katamari lacked visual polish I think and the two-stick controls but it probably wouldn't bother them. Good to go apart from that. You could try LocoRoco and some other demos. Last edited by Shin-Ra; 06-30-2009 at 12:38 AM. |

I'd definitely add Patapon 1 & 2 and LocoRoco 1 & 2 to the list. Lots of fun and very kid friendly.
There are also some arcade collections out there - I have the midway one that has Klaxx, Gauntlet, Spy Hunter, Joust, and several others in it. That would probably work too. |

This might actually be more helpful...
http://www.us.playstation.com/Search?search&s=games Go there select psp as the system filter and then go down to esrb select Everyone, everyone 10 is games appropriate for 10 years and older , and everyone is just everyone.. From there you can get a good list, reference pictures and synapses.. and when in doubt you can ask us about the individual titles.. Cheers... |

Personally, I think quality is an important factor--even in a game for kids--so I only added games to the list above that averaged 70% or better in reviews: Pangya and Secret Agent Clank. DBZ qualifies, but it's rated T, so I intentionally left it off. I've had lots of friends recommend Daxter. I might pick that up today, since we're taking the kids on a trip this weekend. Quote:

Yeah, but there is quite a few songs that are family friendly and it's friendly to play as well. You can adjust the speed so that your kids don't find it too difficult.

Added Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon. My daughter is really enjoying this one. It's a unique slant on the sim genre.
It doesn't seem to have earned much critical praise, but players love it. I can see why--it has that very relaxing element like flOw. |

Ah yes that reminds me there's also Harvest Moon: Boy and Girl or for a more RPG experience there's also Brave Story: New Traveler
