Default Samsung P1200 Now $499.99 on Amazon

Now that the new Samsung has dropped to $499.99, which new Blu Ray player do you preffered? Which of the new players you think is the better one as far of Load times, PQ, SQ and Resume playback?

We've determined that it is not BD-J 1.1 compatible. It has the "older" Broadcom chip BCM7411D, which won't support the PiP requirements. See this thread: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=859901

It's tough keeping tabs on everything. Missed that particular thread over there.

When I bought mine I had zero expectation of v1.1 compatibility and little to no desire to see those zippy extras, so the discovery was moot for me

So are you saying that when the studios starts releasing titles that are BD-J 1.1 the Samsung player won't be able to play them?

The SAmsung player will be able to play the movies, but the PiP (in other words, some of the extra features) will not be "available". But you'll always be able to get the profile 1.0 features of the discs (i.e. play the movie, regluar extras, basic BD-J games, etc).

It won't do the PiP, but the main picture (the movie) will work just the same as it does now.
