Quantum of Solace defect?

I just opened up a sealed Quantum of Solace Blu-ray that I purchased from Fry's when I noticed the graphic on the disc looks very pixelated, like it was made at home on a printer. So I pop it in the PS3 and it doesn't even recognize it as a Blu-ray, instead it reads it as a data disc. So I figured I'd pop it into my computer to see what data was on there when the Auto-install wizard comes on and asks me if I want to install something called "Panasonic Gigarange USB Utility". A Google search showed that Panasonic Gigarange is a line of cordless phones.....Anybody have any ideas??

Someone took the disc and replaced it somewhere in the distribution chain. Or the wrong disc was put in at the factory. Only two possibilities really. Or at least the only two I could think of.

I would just take it back and have it replaced to be on the safe side.

I'd swap it out @ Fry's, but you might want to call MGM first and let them know. They might be able to identify the batch the disc came from and investigate further. Could be the whole batch was bad.

Something similar happened to me when I rented 'Horton Hears a Who' on BD. I went to play it on my PS3 and it recognized the BD as being from a region that it could not play back. Upon inspecting the disc, I noticed chinese lettering all over it. I took it back and told the people who worked there. They were just as shocked as I was about the switcheroo.

At leasty they believed you, i've had issues returning such a disc before (albiet on dvd not blu ray).

Same with me to at Frys for just about ANYTHING you may need to return. And knowing Frys, if they will allow you to exchange it, I'm 99% sure that Frys will just re-shrink wrap the one you brought back and put it back on the shelf for for sale and $1.00 less than the new ones.

You got hosed but hopefully they replaced it....
