Default Is 720p 32" TV ok as a mointor?

I have two choices that are the same price, except one is a 720p Samsung and the other is a 1080p Vizio. I know the Sammy is the LN32B540 and I think that the Vizio is VA320M. If I am going to be using it as a primary monitor and with my ps3, would the 720p suffice?

Suffice for - what?
Computer?
Games?
Blu-ray playback?

What will be the nominal viewing distance?
I would go with the 1080 myself.

I do occasionally HDMI one of these laptops to my 42" 1080 HDTV.

About 2' for typing and 7-8' from my bed watching TV.

It will work, but to fully enjoy Blu-ray you will have to be within 3.5 - 4.2 feet.
7-8 feet you will not be able to resolve the 1080 picture.

You need to figure if it is worth it when viewing from the recommended distance vs sitting on the bed.
