Default Warhawk Beta Review: Mind Blowing Experience

This about sums up my experience as well...

http://www.gamingtarget.com/article.php?artid=7126

"Warhawk is a mind-blowing experience in which anything can happen and everything that does happen is fun. The sense of comradery is incredible in this online universe and teamwork is the ultimate way to have fun as well as tackle the opposition."

I think some extra invites went out recently..but I think you had to sign up for the beta on the warhawk site and/or be in the playstation underground as well. Not sure about the latter part...it's all a blur now..

Warhawk Box Unveiled

Quote:
Scheduled for a simultaneous debut on both BD-ROM and the PSN in late August/early September
Quote:
Though users can download Warhawk directly through the PlayStation store, people who purchase the physical disc will get a voice communication headset bundled in as well as Blu-ray bonus content like behind-the-scenes documentaries and similar goodies.

Sony has yet to officially determine prices for the retail and downloadable SKUs.
The larger boxart image won't load for me.

You could always play the demo via the Beta hack...BUT you always run the risk of getting your console banned since you're not an official tester.

Its cool they scrapped the single player and just made it completely online. I would rather them just go with an incredible online game, anyway.

Will the final retail verison of the game include a single player mode? I like the behind the scenes footage. I dont' have any use for a headset. A single player mode is the only thing that is missing.

Incognito and Sony announced several months back that Warhawk was to be multiplayer only. That may change in the future but not for the games launch. The price is expected to reflect the lack of single player.

I'm mainly a campaign player and I was initially very disappointed the campaign was removed since that was what I really cared about .. on-line was way down the list.. so I don't say this lightly...this game absolutely rocks. Well it does for me anyway.

u_nick is STILL in the Warhawk Beta Twilight Zone apparently...

The campaign mode was removed? How come? Are both versions of the game going to be the same?

Yes, both the downloadable game from the psn and the blu-ray disc retail game will be the same except that the retail version will come bundled with a bluetooth headset and contain behind the scenes footage as well.

I gotta agree.

I'm mostly a single player guy too, mainly because i know how much i stink at online games compared to other people! LOL

That said, the game is pure and simple FUN. All the time. Fast paced, and beautiful to look at.
