Why wasn't Quantum Of Solace released on steelbook ? - Blu-ray Forum

I understand that since casino Royale was distrubuted by Sony, we don't have a steelbook atleast for now. But it is surely annoying that they MGM/fox did not release this on Bluray Steelbook s the rest of the steelbooks ?

It isn't studio's decision, it is up to the retailer. If the retailer sees a reason to do a steelbook, they will do one. Otherwise they won't. Mostly steelbooks are made to sell a movie that people normally wouldn't buy or give you an incentive to buy a more expensive version if its a good movie.

That is why there might not be anymore bond steelbooks as retailers weren't seeing the expected returns on them.

we might see them in steelbook after all the other ones are released in steelbook(if they are) not sure how well they sold in the states but they didnt fare too well up in Canada (they probably should have waited until there was a larger blu-ray base before doing Bond SBs)

I personally hate to buy boxset individually.. specially a James Bond monster collection.. 23x will cost you a fortune! But due to a nature of Steelbook in my blood I couldn't help myself.
A boxset will always be much cheaper than individually..

And I regret everyday since they stopped releasing James Bond SteelBook

Oh, it is! Overe here in Holland they released a partially 3D-edition (like the title on the German Wanted Steelbook), but it was a cheap looking carboard sleeve. I didn't like QoS but thought Casino Royale kicked ass

They almost gave the Steelbook in Canada ($9.99 CAD) to get the rid of them!
They also skipped the last two...

My sixth sense tell me it's over with the 007 SteelBooks.

I hope I'm wrong but I think they won't release more.
