i don't have any intention of getting 300, but i was again very annoyed at Warner anyway for adding another title to the VAST collection of shafted Blu-ray versions! Whatever next?!?

This isn't really Warner's fault. If the current Blu-ray players supported real PiP then they could have included it. They could do the somewhat kludgy method of endoing 2 different versions of the movie (one with PiP and one without), but that isn't really PiP like we think of it as a feature. While the bad news is that Blu-ray hasn't required players to support PiP, when they do they will require HD PiP support (so they could encode the PiP at something higher than low bitrate SD and if you swapped the images, the big picture would be HD).

I'm guessing BD-J isn't out yet...

I'd much rather have the movie without PiP instead of having to wait for it...

the fact that Batman Begins isn't out yet because of PiP/BD-J is kind of silly...

regardless, it'll at least come out on Blu-ray...unlike the majority of Blu-ray titles that will never see the light of day on HD DVD....

I concur. Give me the occasional deleted scenes, and blooper reels. That is all I need. You can put the other stuff on an additional disc like POTC.

Talking Are you serious?

Im serious you guys know you dont really care about PIP. What are you stuck in 1996? Change the channel Man! And whoever even questions the cool factor of the movie 300 needs to have there balls removed. Hands down 300 will be one of the top best sellers on Blu-ray to date. I wouldn't be suprised if it beats Casino Royale, which is one of my all time faves.

Default Cjs234...

...had me laughing my ass off!!!

I could give a crap less about PIP, deleted scenes and some bloopers are good enough for me. I just wish BD-J was out all over the place so the HD DVD fanboys would shut the hell up as they p*ssywine about their dying format.

BD-J is there... BUT Blu-Ray need a Secondary Video Decoder for PIP to work.. that is part of Profile 1.1 witch is ready but the Hardware didn't follow. Sony wanted to launch at the same time as Toshiba but wasn't quite ready in the hardware.

I think PIP is nice for the menu and what not, so the menu can come up while still playing the movie, but that is about it lol. anywyas, this movie is too good (from what i have heard/seen of it) that it doesn't need PIP anyways. I don't wanna wait any longer than i already have to.

Add me to the list of people who couldn't possibly care less about pip. I can do without 99% of the so-called "special" features, which have basically become useless interviews with cast members kissing the director's and other cast members' asses. Deleted scenes and bloopers are cool, and occasionally there are some cool making of features, but as far as something that plays at the same time as the movie, I'm fine with audio and the occasional video commentaries. No need to postpone many good releases for a feature a majority of users will skip over. I read Bill Hunt's article on HDi and the interactive features it offers and had basically the same reaction: so what? It boils down to content and the quality of said content. You can add a $20k premium sound system to a Hyundai Accent, but after you get over the sound system, you're left with the Hyundai.

that's not pip. that's java.

pip would be having the director or actor commenting in the corner of the screen while the movie plays

Agree with the majority and don't ever use pip for tv...why would I want it during a movie?

I am outraged that we have to wait for Warner to include this feature and delaying the BD versions of several movies in the process.

When I watch a movie, I want to WATCH a MOVIE. I don't care about and have never listened to one audio commentary track on any DVD that I own. It is all boring useless crap anyway. Who cares if you can watch the same scene of the movie PIP with out the computer generated backgrounds and see the original green screens, which I what I am hearing this is all about. Its totally stupid. Having said that. I do have an HD-DVD player, but will be buying the Blu-ray version of the movie. I have pretty much given up on purchasing any HD-DVDs.

Thumbs down

Why is WARNERS wasting time, energy, and money for HDi for a dying format? When they should be concentrating on the best PQ and SQ for BLU-RAY.

I would bet that most HD supporters could care less about HDi, and what the F__K Warners release your back titles without HDi, we want Batman Begins etc and screw pip.
