Shopping for Blus in Paris - Blu-ray Forum

Hi,

I'm visiting Paris and will go to see what Blu Rays are available (perhaps at Fnac for example.)

I know the Big Blue is out here and LEON but I don't know what is all region coded and also I need to read up on anything in terms of transfer PQ.

(I read the French release of La Femme Nikita for example was inferior to the US release... I would hate to snap up an inferior copy at Euro-prices.)

Anyone know what if anything I might keep my eyes open for?

EDIT--- My mistake.. .I see the Big Blue is currently pre-order here ... not yet available.

In Bruges, MR73 and 36 quai des orfevres (Department 36). I bought them all at Virgin Megastore in April.

The Big Blue is out in France. The problem is that it does not have the original English track, it has the French dub. The pre-order you see on our site is for the UK release by Optimum.

May pick up Leon and possibly the big blue. I never heard of most of the movies suggested (except the Piaf one) They look like great choices too though. (I looked them up on IMDB.)

If you go to your settings and check France, UK, etc....you could see the reviews we have for all of the films I've mentioned.

Examples:

La Haine

OK,

Waiting works for me since when it comes to USA it will be much cheaper.

EDIT- I re-read your post and noticed the missing original audio track... Yep... I can skip the Big Blue for now. I have the DVD... makes it easier to wait for the right Blu version.

Tempted to wait for the US release of Leon too but ... it's hard to wait for that one.

I was tempted by la Haine and Piscine ... maybe another day I'll take those before I go back to the states...
