English 5.1 Uncompressed Audio is very good, the PoTC trilogy is considered one of the best trilogies on blu-ray yet.

It has PCM which is the same thing as truehd and dts-hdma only it hasn't been compressed to save space. All three are lossless.

The pirates trilogy is presented in Linear Pulse Code Modulation, which is commonly refered to as LPCM. Your disc is not defective; it simply means that the audio in the POTC trilogy is uncompressed, and is of the purist sound possible unlike the True HD and the DTS MA encodes. It is rare to find LPCM audio encodes for blu-ray discs now. That being said, Kick back and enjoy your POTC trilogy as it was meant to be experienced. your ears and your HT will thank you.

PCM is not the purest sound possible. Sound is analog and has to be converted to digital. PCM is a procedure to convert analog sound to digital. The purest form of sound is analog without any modification or conversion. At best, PCM is a good digital translation of analog sound.

Also, I think you are confusing lossy compression (Dolby Digital and DTS Digital) with lossless compression (Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio).

There is nothing wrong with compression. This is done to save space on the disc. It is like Zipping computer files. When you buy a software program from a company (e.g., Microsoft), almost all the files are zipped (compressed) on the disc. When you unzip the files, you will get exactly what the software company intended to give you. There is no benefit for the software company to provide you with multiple discs of uncompressed computer programs.
