It's your favourite Coen film and you just bought it?
Well that's inexcusable.

I bought it a long time ago as I love it myself so I will also be double dipping.

Is this the steelbook? They just announced one for Fargo and I was wondering if it was the new restoration...this could be it? If so I'll go for it at some point - already have the current transfer which looks good, but as always Coen brothers are my favourite so I'm obliged to get everything they got (I'm up to date with all of their releases so far, including the DVDs).

I bought it about a month ago and soon after I discovered that it is getting a remaster. Kinda raging. Great film though!

Confirmed! Wondering if this will be a 'cheap' Fox title and might be in an Amazon offer/HMV 3 for £20 in months to come...or it will be one of their consistently-around-£10 titles...can't tell.

Hope it has all the extras btw! Got rid of my old DVD with the Coen's interview (because it's on YouTube) but would be cool to have it again.

The steelbook looks nice but very pricey. If it comes down I will certainly double dip.

"A homespun murder story"? I don't think I've heard that tagline before. Apart from being slightly clunky syntax, it sounds like they're repositioning the film away from the "true story" controversy and internet claims of Japanese tourists dying in the snow.

Me, I doubt I'll be buying this. It's not as if the previous version is impossible to watch, and there are too many new releases to buy.

It's been the tagline as long as I can remember.

The new cover is a slightly reformatted copy of the original 1996 theatrical poster artwork, tagline and all.

May be one of those regional things, how they use different posters and taglines in different countries. (I'm in Australia.)

Or maybe I just didn't notice it. But I honestly have no memory of seeing that poster or tagline before, and I saw the film in its original release at the cinema. The poster image I remember associating with the film is the one on the previous Blu release cover. And I seem to remember a simple tagline that said something like "A true story", hence my comment earlier. (Not talking about the surtitles on the film itself, but on the poster.)

Anyway, if I'm mis-remembering, so be it. The new cover is quirky, but doesn't really do it for me, and I still feel the tagline has clunky syntax. But maybe that's just me.

Anyone ordered this from Amazon? It says that it comes in "frustration-free packaging" - I would hardly call Blu-ray packaging frustrating. Also, curiously, it says "Is this a gift? This item is delivered in its own packaging. To keep the contents concealed, select This will be a gift during checkout. "...

The Robocop remaster is currently £6.99 in HMV and was so about a month after its release. I think ill wait on this one.

That's true, just realised that's a Fox title. Hope Fargo and The King Of Comedy go the same way!
