Default BD+ goes live

No suprise Fox wasted no time in making their union official. With this in mind what are some movies you all have been waiting for? Definitely Independence Day for me. Oh and a little collection of trilogies called Star Wars.

Just give me Man on Fire and the first two X-men. I know people like him, but they can shelve all the Will Smith movies until they get my previously mentioned movies out.

Hey, I'd love to get all three seasons of HELL'S KITCHEN on BD, but I'm probably the only one. I could watch Gordon Ramsay scream at his minions forever.

"Now, f*** off out of my kitchen!"

That said, MASTER AND COMMANDER, MAN ON FIRE, and 28 DAYS/WEEKS LATER would make me very happy.

I'd like to see 28 Days Later if Danny Boyle oversees the transfer (love the movie, but I think that this transfer could be easily messed up). I could not care less about the sequel.

There are quite a few I'd like to see, like I, Robot, Star Wars of course, From Hell, Alien, ID4, Die Hard. Hopefully we'll see some more tv shows on BD as well. I'm hoping for the X-Files, even though I already have all the seasons and the movie on SD. I know that at least season 6 or 7 was shot in high def widescreen, so I'm hoping they can do it justice if they do release them.

Heck yea... got all four seasons of those. The last season, which debuted last November in Britain, is particularly good. One episode has Ramsay helping out with a restaurant run by a chef who at one point was on the same career trajectory as Ramsay (winner of a Michelen star and everything)... it's a very humbling episode, very dramatic. Looking forward to the American version of that this fall on Fox.

And if you haven't seen "The F Word", that's highly reccommended for all Gordon Ramsay fans as well.

As for this season of Hell's Kitchen... Melissa has to go! Biotch.

Sorry, back on topic.

The Original PLANET OF THE APES movies would be awesome on blu too.

I would like to see Little Miss Sunshine, Notes on a Scandal, The Fly, Naked Lunch, One Hour Photo. These are art house movies but think their transfers would be awesome.

I'm a little confused as to where you say Fox wasted no time in making their union with BD+ official.

Are you talking about the digital bits website?

The last line says " So does this mean that Fox and MGM will soon begin announcing new Blu-ray releases? We expect so." We expect so & they're going to start releasing titles are 2 different things.

I was hoping this thread had some titles that Fox & MGM were releasing.

BD+ being "finished" & titles finally being released are 2 different things. Don't get me wrong I hope Fox & MGM start releasing titles as soon as possible but I've learned with these formats not to put the cart before the horse.

Original versions of movies, what a novel idea. While they're at it, how about the original Italian Job, Wicker Man, Flight of the Phoenix as well, oh Omen, there's another one they've released a remake of instead of the original, I'm sure I could think of more.

I don't like or get all this "remake-arama" releases myself (they should mix it up more), but I guess they think the kids out there want the "freshest" version possible... and when you have the latest titles out there, that's what sells BD players. Anyway, once the user base expands, we'll see plenty of back catalogue stuff.

It's because the suits that don't care about the creative end see a far more guaranteed return on investment in a known quantity property.
