Default English Menu's?

I was wondering, if I decide to get a blu-ray from it's original country rather than another, will the menu be in english or it's native language. Perhaps it's interchangeable?

I also have another question o_o. Are watermarks a big concern? Like are they common. It's a text or logo that's blended into the background, right? I'd rather not waste money on ones that have this.

The answer for both depends on the country and/or distributor.

Jaoanese releases will almost always have a Japanese menu while Hong Kong releases generally have bilingual menus.

Same for watermarks, some releases have them but its dependent on the distributor of the film.

Thanks. Would you happen to know any distributors that are known for watermarks? The only movie I've come across with complaints are Red Cliff by Mei Ah.

Oh ya! steve, do I have to worry about edited versions of a movie if I get one from an american distributor?

That's the only one I'm aware of that has it.

Depends on the distributor and what elements they have or decide to use.

Tai Seng generally localizes the Hong Kong releases so they are uncut but Tai Sent will generally add an English dub and English subtitles to the extras.

Disney has the original elements to Drunken Master II and Iron Monkey but chose to releasr the US versions only.

Ya, Mei-Ah was a little ridiculous with the watermarks. I remember the Red Cliff films having it and Mad Detective. And I think maybe Empress and the Warriors too. That's the only watermark I've ever seen though.

Both Korean and HK films as far as I know had American Menu's...The only menu I've had in a different language was the Japanese one's.

Some releases are unique such as the Terminator 2 Japanese steelbook. Which I think had the menu options in English but when highlighted would turn to Japanese.

Yea I heard. For RC I'm getting the one from Deltamac and hopefully the sequel from Mei Ah won't have em', since I heard people say they won't be doing it anymore for future releases. For Empress I'm going with the United Kingdom release. I prefer to go with the ones that have better art cover though , lol.

I'm gonna be getting like 40 blu-rays, man . More than half of em' are HK, sadly I find there aren't many good releases from Korea & Japan. I would've liked some death note, mushishi, crows zero or ong bak in HD, but doesn't look like it. Oh, any idea where I can buy the Taiwan release?

Oh ya hey xD. Do I have to worry much about PQ? I heard sometimes they're really disappointing, any particular distributors to avoid or ones that I should lean more towards? :3

The Red Cliff Watermark only pops up 2 or 3 times for a couple of seconds. I thought it would bother me, but it didn't at all...

Are HK releases in the slim cases American Blu's come in or the thicker variant most UK releases are packaged in?
