Angry Looping to menu - movie will not start

I'm wondering if anybody else is having the same problem as me. My Samsung BD-P1500 Blu-Ray player will not play some discs, most recently "Valkyrie". It plays 9 out of 10 discs but this is driving me crazy. What happens is that the player has no problem starting the disk, playing the previews and bringing up the main movie menu. But when I hit play on the menu, the player does some searching and eventually just goes back to the menu. If I hit play again it just basically keeps looping back to the menu. If I go to scene selection and try and start it from there it just goes back to the menu. I've tried cleaning the discs and checking them for damage and this doesn't seem to be the cause. I even tried two separate copies of "Valkyrie", same issue. Anybody else have a problem like this?

The 1500 was a good player for it's time,... but is now outdated both hardware and software wise. It's hardware simply will not support some of the new features.

It is only a matter of time before they cannot update the firmware to keep up with the Disc changes.

I did update the firmware. I was two updates behind. I should've thought to check that, thanks for the tip. I've only watched five or six movies but all of them have been problem free.
