Looks like something out of a BB brochure...all they seem to be doing is pushing lcds! In any case its msn...you need to check up on places that actually know the field like hometheatermag, soundandvisonmag, etc!

I just thought the Panasonic TC-P54Z1 was pretty cool, it's very slim almost looks like my HP computer monitor. The cool part though is that you dont actually plug anything into the tv itself everything connects to a seperate box instead so no wires to the tv. Now thats gotta b new and inventive cuz i never heard of that...

All BNL stores push LCD's like crazy. The reason is the profit margin is higher.

I'm sorry friend, but that is false. I have not seen any LCDs with a significant margin increase over similarly priced plasmas with the exception of no-name brands and the Samsung "LED" LCDs. I sell TVs for a living and the margin is generally about 10-15% MAXIMUM on a $2000 TV set, and the plasma may be 9% and the LCD may be 12% or something like that, but its not enough to justify the push of one tech over another.

The main reason companies will push LCD vs Plasma is because in the typical consumer's mind it's brighter so its better and it doesn't "suffer from burn in" or "need the gases recharged" and such, so its an easier sell. How informed the customer is goes a very long way... why advertise a great plasma in your flyer when the customer is unsure or has negative thoughts about plasma, when you can advertise a mediocre LCD around the same price that everyone and his mother is willing to buy?

Most of retail store push LED in their top display demo, usually in the front door or their showroom. Because they are the most pricey tv for size in their store. Is a mistake to get those first gen led at this point, since it still suffer many of same lcd problem while just has better contract and sleeker.

Store does very poor job on display plasma, because first they are bigger require more shelve space and they cost less, while they has better picture, they don't care about getting best value for picture as long they get the most money out of you/

Really? The Z1 is the front page picture. How can they ONLY be pushing LCDs?

Edit: Nevermind. The rest are LCD, and they certainly had opportunity to profile another Panny model or a Samsung Plasma. Oh well...at least the Z1 was front & center!
