As the title says - the game doesn't run in full 16:9, there's side borders and the same poor image quality has been transferred over from the Gamecube version (I've not played it on PS2 or PC). On GC and Wii there's a verticle rectangles repeating pattern over the whole screen, most easily seen when you look up at the sky at the start, in addition to the usual 480p blurriness and aliasing.
It's obviously an improvement over the GC version which runs 4:3 letterboxed, but I'm not at all impressed. The Wii's supposed to be approx. 2x as powerful as the GC but they made minimal improvements to the picture. As well as filling the screen horizontally, the game should overscan a bit so the rougher edges of the rendered frame are hidden. |
