Lethal Weapon 5 - Blu-ray Forum

I didnt see this posted but thought it was interesting. I would go see it.

Hollywood tracking board TrackingB.com reports that Shane Black, who wrote the first Lethal Weapon movie, has written a spec script for Lethal Weapon 5 without telling anyone. The site adds that he contacted franchise producer Joel Silver and said that he wanted to continue the story.

This time, homicidal Riggs (Mel Gibson) is about to retire, but pulls Murtaugh (Danny Glover) out of retirement to solve one final case, before they both officially head off into the sunset.

TrackingB.com says that Gibson and Glover are down to return, but no deals have been signed.

The first film was released in 1987, the second in 1989, the third in 1992 and the fourth in 1998.

Huh. I'd definitely go see it, but with low expectations. Love the first two, 3 and 4 are definitely a step down.

I agree with the person above me. I have the first two already, and may not pick up 3 and 4. On second thought, maybe part 4 just because of the Pesci/Rock conversation about cell phones. The movie may not be that great but that part gets me every time.

I love the Lethal Weapon movies

I have never seen any of them and I'll wait until they come out with losless in a boxset.

I would deffinetly go see it! leathal Weapon is by far my favorite series for movies. The first two were awesome and even 3 and 4 weren't that bad. I'll admit I would like to see 5 return to the style of the first two. This would be a theater view for sure!

Nice. If it has the dark material of the first 2, and the comedy of 3 and 4, it'll be a hit in my opinion.

Heh. The funny thing is, that LW 2 was on last night and I thought to myself, I wonder if there will ever be a Leathal Weapon 5? Now look. I wonder if that actually makes me phykick (however you spell that)?

I remember seeing 1 + 2 with my Dad as a kid.

Part 2 left a big impression on me when Riggs slammed the car door on that guy's head 2 or 3 times.

I marveled at his creativity.
