Default Media Storage Cabinet HELP

Im not sure where to post this, but this is the best place i could think of...

Im constantly changing my DVD/BD storage cabinet and now its once again time to change because my movies are over flowing and i have no more room in my cabinet. anyways... i need one that stores 350 or more movies. I have found one at target called: Leslie-Dame MS-700

Heres the link:
http://www.target.com/Double-Wide-St...-%24499&page=1

Does anybody know where i can find storage cabinets for cheaper pricing, maybe not the same one but one like it. Ive looked at Target, Walmart, Best Buy and amazon.com. Any suggestions.

I have the same problem. I just bought one from Best Buy (overpriced) that is good but it will only hold around 200 Blu's. I've about filled it now since I've been buying/trading like crazy over the last year or so.

I've been trying to think of a clever idea to build something myself or a decent solution online.

I'll update if I find anything, but for right now I'm looking too.

www.racksandstands.com is one place that could be decent.

I was thinking the same thing. This way it will be exactly as you want it and you won't have to worry about getting rid of something you just purchased because you ran out of room.

I've also been looking at the Leslie Dame products again over the past couple of days. I purchased the CD-612 approx. five years ago and although they're a bit pricey it's also a very good quality product (solid wood).

In my search I did come across that same exact item at a few places online:

RacksandStands.com - $347.95
SpinKeeper.com - $326.95
DeepDiscount.com - $249.95

vs. Target.com - $299.99

Both have free shipping (and should have no tax). I'm afraid that's probably the cheapest you're going to find on these products.

Hi SAP. If you're after that sort of style, then would this be any good for $129 ?

If you'll want a slightly larger cabinet for expansion in the future Leslie Dame also has the MS-1050 (3-door) and MS-1400 (4-door) in the same style.

DeepDiscount also carries the MS-1050 but not the MS-1400.

DeepDiscount already had the best price but with the discount that seems too good of a deal to pass up. I forgot to mention but maybe you already know about Microsoft's Bing Cashback (previously Live Cashback) and hopefully saved an additional 4% (~$10 for your purchase).

Are those stands made by PrePac? (EDIT: Nope, it appears the stands are made by Venture Horizons) The shelves appear to be as thick as a CD case ... how well do they hold up under the weight of a full shelf?

One of the reviewers on that site posted a larger picture that I found helpful:

Holds up fine. The manual that came with it actually gives you reinforcement suggestions. But I have this shelf along with a smaller one holding all of my DVD (1700+) and Blus (just over 200).

This shelf I have FULL except for 3 sections that have some movie figures and statuettes on the. None of my shelves are bowing. I'm happy with it. I thought about getting rid of my smaller shelf and getting a 2nd one like this so that I can add my PS3/ games and other media and have 2 shelves with nicely spaced out media and room for more.

I agree with the build-it-yourself idea.

We have a locking double-door cabinet from Prepac, and it's absolute crap. After only about 18 months, the doors are literally buckling under the weight of all the movies so that they drag along the base, leaving scratches. Not cool, IMHO. Oh, and Prepac has replaced the locking mechanism twice under warranty due to the fact that the lock breaks, leaving the key stuck inside, just spinning freely.

The guys at my local Lowe's store are woodshop geniuses. I went in there once with a rough sketch of a custom-built media cabinet with locking doors (we have little kids) and they re-drew the whole thing on graphing paper with proper dimensions, and even wrote down what hardware and wood to use, etc. Total materials cost is like $90. One of these days I'll get around the building it...

If you know anyone who is good with carpentry, ask them to sketch you out a design. It's a satisfying weekend project, and you'll get exactly what you want for a helluva lot less than $300.

haha I figured, thanks

That would probably cost another 50 or so to ship. Probably better for me to design one and have it built instead.

I like that those are soo big but i like them to be cabinets because the movies dont get dusty and they are safer behind doors
