I went to BB to buy the Pioneer receiver that cost $299.99. Forgot the model number but it had 3 hdmi in's and 1 out. it did have all the googies in True HD and all the decodes
I got home all excited to hook it up to my Pioneer Elite Kuro..... ![]() I connect my Direct TV/ PS3/ Xbox 360. all via HDMI.... The previous receiver I had from Samsung only had 2 hdmi In's therefore I went with the new Pioneer to get 3 for all 3 things that I have. But the damm Pioneer did not show video for my Direct Tv and only sound. The PS3 worked fine and so did the 360 but direct tv showed no picture I tried all diff types of methods. Like switching the hdmi cables or putting the direct tv hdmi on the input that worked for the ps3 and 360 and nothing. I then heard in AVS that the model i have...has been known to have issues showing cable or sat picture through hdmi. I then got upset and went back to BB and returned it and got my money back I read about the Onkyo and went to 6th ave electronics and they had on their website the TX-SR507 for $350 which was 50 more then the Pio but this one has 4 hdmi IN'S and a few other goodies. The great thing is that when I get to the store they sold it for $297.00 which was a sale they had that day. So I was excited as hell I get home and my direct tv works fine and so do all the other things like ps3 and 360 the issue I have now is that. I have no clue about what settings to put to make this receiver blow me away I tried the mic thing to calibrate my speaker volumes and distance and that made the volume extremely low. I have all this in one bedroom and i am close to the set. but I then went ahead and put the spearer level up myself and right now I am having a hard time seeing if I should play my games on DOlby or on the receivers Game Mode which does sports game and action games. I really cant tell a diff when in Dolby 5.1 or Game mode I also do not know if speaker should be small or large. And for the money I spent. Do you guys think I can spend a bit more and get the TX-SR607 I heard that one has some type of new Pro Logic I have 5 speakers and a sub so I do 5.1 and not 7.1 |
